Off topic sorry, though are all T-series sumps the same volume? The reason I ask is the 3T-GTE I purchased has a hacked sump (as it as going into a Gemini previously) and I wanted to know if I can use a 2T sump?

All the sumps interchange, They vary a little inside in terms of the baffles but the oil capacity is the same.

What will work and whats a good idea are two very different things. An engine will run under a lot of less than ideal conditions and people do a lot of dodgy things where fuel systems are concerned.

Oh, and just quickly... What are peoples thoughts on which washers to use throughout the engine?

I'm assuming spring washers for certain parts and normal washers for others, both with some sort of loctite?

There sems to be mixed feelings about loctite on flywheel bolts? Anyone want to share their opinions?

Loctite only where called for - nearly nowhere. If you use the correct bolt in the correct location with the correct washers and correct torque settings they don't come undone.

Flywheel bolts + loctite in my opinion is about as good an idea as wiping your bum with thinners.

Correct washers for where? For the Flywheel? There are none. Buy yourself some new ARP bolts for it and torque them (with the correct lubricant per ARP's recommendation) and presto, your flywheel is sorted.

As for the correct bolts, screws and washers combination throughout the engine, it is best to put them back where they came from.

I have already bought some genuine Toyota 3T-GTE bolts from Castle Hill Toyota, yet to torque them up as I have a few other things to do before hand...

And there are a whole heap of bolts missing throughout the whole engine so it's hard to know what needs washers and what does not. I'm sure I can work it out anyway!

I'm trying to re-assemble the engine and gearbox now but finding a million and one things missing as I go... Quite frustrating considering I was told everything needed to get the engine up and running was there!

Another question, where can I find 2 of the spring clips that hold the throw-out bearing on to the clutch fork? Mine are missing.

And does anyone have a COMPLETE 3T-GTE wiring loom they would like to sell? Mine is butchered and missing a whole lot of plugs. Another real bummer and set-back!

I know I can buy a full set of gaskets from the likes of SWM etc for ~$350, but I only need a couple of things such as valve stem, main rear, and timing cover seals (I have spares of the rest and rocker cover seal is not very old having bought a full kit in the past).

So I am thinking of just buying the 3tc kit for a 1/3 of the price. Just wondering if anyone knows if the 3tc valve stem seals are usable on the 3tgte or will I have to grab these seperately?

I have Sard Injectors for my 2TGTE. River uses them in his 18RGTE too.

Mine are:
63500 (700cc)
Nissan - Pulsar Gti-R (SR20DET) - 700cc - Top, Low Impedance, 1 Hole, Pale Blue (Pic 1) Time 0.65msec


SARD 534cc Injector -63501
Top feed, low impedance, 1 hole. Lag time: 0.85msec

The 63501 will suit as it is a single hole injector and being a high current injector it has a good opening time (0.85msec) its a bit slower to open than the 700cc injectors but still quite respectable.

If your not chasing to big a Kw number then they would be a good choice.

The reason I went for 534cc injectors was because it was pretty close to the RX7 injectors and was influenced by what Jas has recommended.

I'm looking for response more than anything with decent power. I'll be running a GT2871r (just arrived today ) and was planning for 16-18PSI. Jas has since recommended running 20PSI. The engine build is complete and have just recently picked it up from Jas. I'm waiting on Jas to fabricate the exhaust and intake manifolds at the moment (should be done by the end of the month). I'll be running an adatpronic e420c.

Having made all these decisions I have turned my attention to the fuel and ignition systems. Would really like some guidance around this. Would also like to know the answer to Steeko's Q?

3tgte pump with 3tgte pickup, or 2tgeu pump with 2tgeu pickup.. not a hybrid of either as the pickup height varies to suit the pump housing.
