Have a couple questions, bubbles in the overflow, blow head gasket?
I'm running a 71deg thermostat, is that to low?
Dose all what a rad and overflow should do, draws back overflow when cools down, doesn't use water but, doesn't blow steam, thermo fan only cuts in while in traffic, cuts in at 88deg off at 84deg.
    Any comments welcome.
    Cheers,
    Neil

    Steeko,

The injectors should be a direct fit other than the connectors for the wiring

    Josh,

16-18PSI..... Sure No-one stays at that if there Turbo will hum out 25 or so. The 700cc injectors have a faster opening and closing rate than the 534cc items and the cost is not much different. Hence why I went for the 700cc items. Nothing wrong with allowing for the growth of your system. Nice Turbo choice.

    Neil,

Nothing wrong with a 71deg thermostat in my opinion. If your worried about the bubbles you should call around your local performance workshops and see if you can find one that will do a TK test for you. A TK test will check for the presence of exhaust gas in your coolant. Keep in mind it will only test positive if the gas is in there at the time of the test.

As such you ideally need it done while your seeing the bubbles you mentioned.

    Thanks Rod,
I'll try and get a tester tomorrow and check.
Trying to get it re-tuned next week before celica cruise.

I ordered a GT2871R with 52 trim too. I had huge T3/T4 on there that was no good for spool. I am hoping this will do a little better!!!

mine is in 52 trim as well. The GT2871r should be a much better match than the T3/T4. I have driven a 3TGTE with a T3/T4 and it was laggy as hell. Then again the guy who had installed simply welded the turbo to the stock manifold which looked bloody ugly :S I can imagine this didn't do wonders for performance either.

Keep me posted on how it performs when you get it on. Mine is a few months off completion yet and I have already come close to blowing the budget on my build

Since we are all sharing Turbo specs I should probably post mine up. Mine was bopught back in June or 2002 so it was before the GT2871R naming protocol.

It is a GT28 with the 446179-32 Core, a 0.86 rear housing and I had a .70 front housing with the 4" intake machined up for it by the boys at GCG. When I originally purchased it was a non standard combination and sold by Ray Hall as a Glen Campbell Special (with the smaller front housing)

    It should go alright.

Looks like that is the same turbo but a 56 trim. I was trying to decide between that one and the 52 trim. I liked the 52 because it was efficient past 28lbs. But that is just on paper.

For those who have purchased pistons/rods from BRD in North Carolina USA (east coast). How long did it take for your gear to arrive? Maybe mine got sent by boat?

Well I havn't dealt with BRD but some gear I got out of Paradise racing came in on a very weary humpback... I was starting to think I had been ripped!

I have heard a few overseas stories of BRD being a bit slow on the freight, but always ending up being worth the wait - hope your gear turns up soon.
