Hello out there i have collected yet another car and want to give it some cheap poke so asking for some ideas and anwsers the car is a 1982 corolla rwd ke70 4k 4spd
Q1. Can you fit an 18R twin cam in and if so how much work is it ?

Q2. Will the lsd out of an 86 hilux fit or do you have to modify the rear ?

Q3 What motor will do the job wanna stay carb so any ideas are the T series any good mate had a t18 went alright with a T3 and XF carb ?

1. probably. same for most other conversions. fuel, mounts, etc.

2. err.. how wide is it compared to the car you have in your driveway you can measure? mounts will need to be fabbed.

3. decide what motor you want and stick it in . 4A can fit straight in with AE71 cross-member. . why stay carb when there is not a whole lot extra to do for efi?

wanna keep low tech plus have a heap of carbs so is it worth 2 T ?

Why not just stick with the 4K? twin carbs, cam, shaved head, extractors, would all cost about $1k

To get similar performance from an 18R or 2T you would be spending more money and more time on the car, i would just stick with the 4K, or maybe stick a bigger bottom end on it, i think there is a 1.5 K series block or something like that.

I've seen a KE70 installed with a mildly worked 5K, use to go pretty hard. Just another option to pick from.

OR 7K 1.8 lt
and is HEAPS lighter the 18R or a T motor (lighter = better go, turn and stop!!)

P.S. If it was me I would go a 4AG but I hate carbs!!!
