hii,
finally got around, to installing the GT gauges into my celica,
i asked davGT4 who has done this conversion and he said he doesnt recall modifiying any wiring,
so i simply pluged it in,
end result,
oil working
amp not working
temp not working
fuel not working
has any one done this conversion???
can some one supply me with a RA/TA23 GT wiring diagram and a standered TA23 wiring diragram
thanks

1980RIP NATHAN BRETT DEAN2007,
a good start would be to get both the clusters, and trace the wires on the back.
i know for mouldyrollas, you need to swap 1 pin between normal and tacho dash, and add pin for tach input..
i only have pics of one of the clusters.. but if you could take pics of both.... then we can trace em out and get 3/4 the way there if not further
got a multimeter?

I remember reading something about the 22's needing a different sender as the GT one was different and would not give an accurate reading.
Just to clarify youve changed the amp, oil, temp, and fuel guages, not just changed to an oil pressure gauge and now the other ones arent working. Is this right?

hhmmm
When i changed the gauges on my RA40 it was plug & play..
This was with a volt meter not the amp... As the amp meter needs to be rewired..
The RA40 had 3 types of meters.. (1) oil & charge light.. (2) oil pressure & volt meter.. (3) oil pressure & amp gauge..
set 1 & 2 will plug & play.. but 3 will need the amp rewiring...
Oil pressure gauge needs a pressure sender..
If you had a charge light it is best to replace with a volt meter...
as for the fuel & temp they should be plug & play.. but check wires..

I know a bloke who put GT4cv gauges in his 23. It is wild to see a speedo that goes upto 300k and a tach that goes to a bizzillion in a 23.. Mind you this 23 goes sidewides up the Samford range.
Living in the 70s
Did you put the GT circuit panel on the back of the gauges or did you leave the orginal one on? The wiring should be the same and you have to hook up the battery for volts.
Get after market guages, they work faster and the old GT gauges just look good.
Roscos
well hopefully Owen can tell me more about the gauges,
LeeRoy your right ive changed all four,
OC i do have a multi meter, but dont know how to use it, will take pics on the weekend

1980RIP NATHAN BRETT DEAN2007,
RA23/28 Gauges... You will need a fuel sender specific for the GT to get the fuel gauge going. The temp guage should work. The Charge light needs a pin moved around one. and there is a pin missing for the Amp. You should be able to work out what is what from these photos and possibly pulling the guage apart to compare.
