what is the diameter of the discs you currently have on the car?
300mm is a bit overkill for a 1000kg car.
yeah i dunno I was thinking about 300mm rotors i have got Rays rims 17 x 7.5 monoblock with extra caliper clearance

that depends how many times he wants to stop and from what speed?
i think brakes are one thing you should be happy to go overkill on...
it's different to not having enough power or traction.. nto having enough brakes can kill you![]()

The Superstrut brakes look to be 275mm diameter. So I guess the only way to go is up to ~300mm
Have you looked at the Rotora brake upgrade for the 7th gen (ZZT-231) celica? These also fit under 16 inch rims if the design is right.
It doesn't cost the earth like other 'big brake' kits.
It would require some work to get the disc to fit such as redrilling to 4x100 and getting a hub ring machined to fit. I also don't know is there is a difference between the mouting points on the hubs of the newer corollas/celicas compared to the older ones, but I've seen the superstrut package put onto a 1ZZ-FE corolla and it seemed to fit fine.
The current discs on KOV51's AE82 are 258mm in diameter, not sure if he's using the 22mm wide version from an AE92 or a machined down 25mm thick superstrut disc. You can't bolt the superstrut caliper up on an AE82 knuckle if you're using the 275mm superstrut disc, the last time I looked there wasn't enough space to make a suitable adapter either.
The twin piston package we did on the 1ZZ-FE corolla with 300x25mm disc used an ST celica caliper similar to the corolla superstrut caliper.
i can cook EBC greenstuffs in my 66 hp atw starlet (830kg's or so) at QR
get some better pads, good fluid, and try again with what you've got

Corolling - noun. adj. [kha-roh-ling] - The act of driving unsafely on dirt, tarmac or other
driving surfaces while either or all of the following from a Toyota Corolla.: honking the horn,
yelling profanities to unsuspecting victims, flailing/throwing harmful objects out of the windows
with 300mm rotors, 1080kg of car, Green stuff will pull up just fine .. i've given mine a flogging over the many years, many events and many different surface and never had brake fade.... oh this was using GTR calipers all round and 300mm Front and 258mmm rear discs and fit under 15" rims. The New setup we use are Porsche Calipers(or Lotus Esprit) which are radial mounts, GTR rears, same discs as the first version we did.
might be worth setting up some better ventilation while your at it

Your tripping luke, superstruts twinpot front and ae102 rear discs with ebc pads will pull up a ae82 stupidly quick, the fact it has 400hp is irelavant, My ae82 from 200kph+ stops like you wouldnt beleive, put supersluts on it and get some ae102 rear discs with either ebc green or red dont waste your money on shit you dont need
try some better than EBC Green pads (like i suggested eariler)
I recommend the Ferodo race pads (DS2500, DS3000)
I find the 2500's to be better both cold and hot than the Greenstuffs were in my car.

AE102 do the rears bolt straight on? Or do I have to get different hubs etc as I just bought all new bits for the AE82 read disc caliper setupOriginally Posted by Poggy
as has been said, Greenstuffs are about the same as bendix ultimates - a decent street pad, but not much chop on the track. I'd be going to a reputable race brake place and asking their opinion - Hawk, Race Brakes Australia, Ferodo, Endless, too many to list all make suitable pads that will improve your braking when hot.

I understand where your coming from ie the weight of the car remains the same no matter how much power you have but......
it is relevent because he will be reaching higher speeds...while trying to take corners at some low sane speed...so the brakes will get a bigger workout as he will be on them more and he will be converting more kinetic energy into heat..
