Depends how thick your primer ends up, if you have any really thick spots, you will need to let the primer finish stretching and waving before a colour can go on. Primer does far different things when drying compared to colour.

Not sure how they did the crows feet on my RA28, but that was done by a professional shop (some time ago now). The best paint on the whole car is the wafer thin layer of factory paint left on the roof. If I polished it, it would become primer.

Yeah with any filler/bog the surface must be sanded/roughed up, this to ensure the bog has something to grip to . Personally I would etch the bare metal, let that flash off, then spot prime those areas, then sand, then fill/bog.

Evercoat Gold and PPG Microfine are pefect for filling over a primed surface.

    cheers Chuck.

    I cheated on the compressors.

I have 1x 40litre compressor and 2x20litre compressor, all relativly cheap. And the are all plumbed together to a single regulator.

So i have 3 air pumps, and 80 litres worth of storage. Seems to work fine for what i was doing. And they were all relatively cheap 2nd hand compressors.

Geoff, try the trading post, to get a decent compressor for that kind of money, you will be looking secondhand.

Belt driven, at least a twin piston pump (V twin will give slightly better heat dissipation), and at least 50L tank.

cheers....got to say primer work and bog work suck......at least out come will have less ripples and bumps.

And to anyone doing bogwork use Evercoat RAGE gold easy to shape and sand....and a 3.4 litre tin costs about $45 cheaper then that supershit crap which goes rock solid!

so, im spraying mine with spray pack cans

now.. seriously.. it goes on 10 times smother if you put the paint can in warm water before you coat it on. and also if you have the panel warmed from behind with, i dunno a radiant heater. it seems to harden the shit pretty good too

so if your doin the dodg like me its something to think about
