Default anyone tried atmo cams in a 1ggte??

the atmo cams for the 1gge have a bee's dick more lift and duration, has anyone tried them in a 1ggte turbo??

are there any gains without using adjustable sprockets, im guessing there would be
    slightly different timing

I like the idea. Any form of extra lift / duration is an advantage when after hp.

Like you say the cam timing from factory mabe the only difference. Adjustable cam gears will fix this.

Do you have adjustable gears ?

Id still wack em in regardless

    Have crossed the idea already.

You have a pooftenth more lift and duration, but not a significant amount.

Depends on the power your chasing.

i dont have adjustable cam gears but do have some atmo cams

will be interesting to see how far off 0 and in which direction they are moved to optimise the gains

PS dont forget to zero the distributor and ignition timing every time you adjust the exhaust sprocket!

i'll hopefully have it running in a week or so, but wont see a dyno for a few weeks, to have a tune,

forcefed6, has also siad that it completey shifts the power/torque curve asell........but not sure if hes using NA cams..

i got mine with a bit or surface rust for $50 they cleaned up real good

i stuck them in the other night only took a couple hours

its funny it make more boost but feels like less power !!! .... go figour??

well its shifted ther power around a little it seems to spool up about the same but sure doesnt have the surge of wheelspinning torque it used to when it hits full boost

feels better off boost as would be expected

i havnt re-tuned for them at all, it seams ok but i may be able to add a little timing or fuel here and there

im sure with a little tuning and cam timing change it would be better than before

were the adjustable cam gears necessary? Or did you just pop em in on the standard gears?

you can use standard gears....but to get the most out of them you will need the cam adjustable cam gears.......

forcefed6 makes and sells the adj gears on here, (check the forum sponsors thread)

ah ok soon to get a pair, was just gonna wack em in and tune it with the safc before i get the adjustable gears. Has anyone ever done a write up on changing camshafts in a 1g? Had a quick look and couldnt find much on it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
