I would only be looking at using it to help bring temps down pre run! basiaclly remove heatsoak so every run for that day would start from cold and work up to ambient temps, instead of starting off with some heatsoak and things rising more and above and beyond what they did for the 1st run....

Question.... DO you have to run the Dry Ice cooler After the Air - Air fmic and then into the plenum? Or could you run it before hand?

IE, Make a Dry ice cooler sertup on the soarer where the factory setup is, in the drivers side front area, then into the FMIC then into the plenum?

OR would you be better off remounting the battery to the boot, building a 250x250x100 dry ice setup where the factory battery is located and then straight iunto the plenum... Kinda the same idea as Jak's cressida, but instead of the pipe running thru, have a core mounted in that area?

Just trying to get some ideas flowing

as 6 boost already said (and make thermodynamic sense ) turbo - FMIC - dry ice.
FMIC is just to cool the air a bit pre-ice.. then the cooled air goes into the ice and cools further..

seems silly to try and cool the hottest air, with the coldest cooler, and then have medium temp air going into medium temp cooler

Yep, air to air has to come first, you'd find the dry ice cooler when being that small wouldn't put a very large dent in the air temp from th eturbo's if it hit the dry ice cooler at nearly 200deg C. You can run a dry iice only cooler, but it has to be positively massive, I think ARE's car is like 450x500x150mm thick, thats all dry ice, and it uses like 20kg of ice per run or some stupid bloody amount.

Moving the battery would be the best option, and join it directly to the intake/throttle body with one of those nice silicone hump hoses so it has some give for engine movement. For all those contemplating it, you can purchase the bare core from ARE and make your owns tanks and cooler etc, if you or your mates can weld/fabricate a bit, you could build yourself a damn cheap setup.

I'll probably copy your setup if that's OK kyle. :-)

I like the idea of a dry ice cooler after the air/air IC.

You reacon buying the ARE core and then making the rest up to suit is the go?

Does it require any fancy welding/sealing or is it so long as it seals for the dry ice good enough?

If you purchased the core, you would have to fabricate end tanks and all. Its not hard to make the box around the core, especially if they were also making end tanks, but its not a back yard job.
