3sgTe and 3sge Cam Differences

Hey all

I remember reading somewhere that guys doing 4agte conversions were changing their 4agze cams in favour of the NA (4age) varient due to the higher lift these provide. I thought i had read somewhere that this was the case for the 3s series, but i do not remember.

Basically im interested to know if the NA 3sge has higher lift cams than the 3sgTe and if so would the improvement be worth the trouble, or just do as i originally intended and get HKS ones anyway? The idea only hit me last night, that i have a complete gen 2??? (ST162) engine sitting there not doing anything thought cams, hhmmmm???

i swapped my st162 cams into my st165 engine back when i had mine, cant say i noticed any difference, it wasnt exactly a track car or anything though. it was the old forum when i asked about it and i think someone measured them but cant remember either.

the Gen 1 cams are the same NA and Turbo but dont fit later heads. Most gen 2 cams are the same lift but different duration on GTE. gen 3 cams are identical.
