Most of these small time guys claim they are made in the USA. However majority of these cheap ebay style rods are made in china or taiwan and then finished honed and sized in Australia. They will not admit this tho.
Never the less, their qaulity is remarkable.

While I know your not directing that at Spool, so don't take this as any defense on you, just so everybody knows, I have been dealing with Brad from spool imports as a friend and business wise since he first started doing these rods, and can stake my reputation on the fact that they are not made in china or taiwan, and are made in the USA from genuine 4340 chromoly, and that they are finished as they come ready to go, they must be some sort of reasonable qaulity company that makes them as well, as he can custom order rods for whatever he likes, I have priced getting 5 sets each of 1GGTE rods and some rods for a stroker RB engine, and they will make small batch sets like this also. Def not Asian made!!

Rods would be about $850 if we purchased 5 sets. I'd probably get 2, so if 3 other people want some, I could arrange a direct buy with brad, I'm not interested in making anything, we would also have to run it by the mods, don't want to start any group buy stuff or cause any problems.

Could someone please hook me up with a contact of the bloke behind these, i want to do a run of rods?
I have been searching for the rods im after are only available via special order and cost about 900 odd dollars each from premium supplyers, i have not yet heard anything negative about these and his prices look very good and even if they didnt match eagle (not saying they dont) they look a whole lot better than what i have to deal with now

    $900!!!!????
If you dont have any luck with spool, you could try ARGO. They are defo not 900 each and are aussie made also.

Matching eagle rods That wouldnt be ummm that hard. From what i have heard, the spools would seem to be a far better option. Im assembling a rb25/30 on the weekend. I ordered some spools for it today, so i will be able to tell first hand what there qaulity looks like. Ill let you know.

I had been searching for a decent set of rods at a decent price for a while, I would have loved a set of Eagles but they are rather pricey, my next choice was the Argo rods but I could not source a set. When I saw the Spools on eBay i was a little leary as there is quite a bit of junk to be had, however the price point was good and they looked liked a solid product so I went for it. I just got them two days ago and I must say that having them in my hands made all my worries disappear. These are NICE.

Almost nothing more rings true about the old saying you get what you pay for than it does about engines. Good pistons, rods, bearings, valves, springs, all the good stuff costs money. Hence why Eagle is so cheap. Warning to all also that most eagle and scat rods use 5/16 bolts, not 3/8, think scat recently upgraded, but still heaps of sets of the smaller bolt ones for sale at shops and ebay.
