    Default Spool rods

Has anyone had any experience using these rods on a 2jz
    or any other motor
Are they any better than the stock rods ?
They seem quite cheap but im not sure about them
Do they fall into the dodgy ebay catergory

    thanks

They are top quality rods.. I have sold a few sets now, ha know of quite a few people that use them.

They are cheap, but very good quality... That much as good as an Eagle/scat rod anyway.

Also, much better than a stock rods strength wise.

Really? I was eyeing a set off, but must admit, the price + ebay combo made me doubt them... hmmm, good as eagles you say? Any idea how they compare weight wise?

They have Toyota rods? Doesn't list much on their website... I'd get excited if they were to start doing 1UZ rods

I deal with spool often, and can vouge for their quality. All of spools rods use 3/8 bolts, most of the eagle/scat stuff uses 5/16. One of my friends is a mechanical engineer and was going to use a set, and got an old test sample rod off them and had it analysed just becuase he's an engineer Came back exceeding all standards for 4340 chromoly, and the tests were completely independent, the 2 were not friends.

I personally have them in a customers RB26/30 who wants 700-750hp at all 4, and another RB30 SOHC that we are building to run low 9's. If thats anything to go buy what I think of them

I will be running spool rods with a set of forged cp pistons

Clevite would be my choice for bearings, I think they make them for the 2JZ. Most of the US guys use stock toyota, but I doubt you want to pay an arm and a leg for them, ACL race series are good, as are King, my personal choice would be in the following order

    Clevite
    ACL Race series
    King

After a lengthy conversation with the person behind the Spooln rods, it seems that he is just starting to do a few different Toyota engines.

So far he has them for the 2JZ and 4AGE, and some on the way to suit the 3RZ. I can help with the supply of these if anyone is interested.

Prices are also very reasonable, for a good quality rod.

Not sure actually what size big end they are to suit, but they are less than $600 a set including bolts etc. They will be less than that, but just over quoting until I get a full listing. Was told a rough price while on the price, but he was on holidays, so this is yet to be verified.
