It can be done at that boost...but prob not with 440cc injectors or std engine.Originally Posted by cri_ag

Like BERAD said ..... members rides threads have the most info as to what is used to make X amount of power.
P.S You wont need !! ANY !! internal mods for the power you are after. So just freshen up what you have.

cuzzo, you need to track this 190kw down and swap your bottom end for the magic standard one.

Just on that cuzzo ....what is your injector duty cycle at ?Originally Posted by cuzzo
I have been thinking about weather or not they (440cc) are good for 190 rwkw.. I reccon you could do it with the fuel pressure cranked up.
After all i did 283 with 550cc so i guess you prob could make 190 with 440's providing the fuel pressure is up around 55 psi

yes that power can be made on 440cc injectors with max duty cycle and at 8000rpm. it was converted as a pre emmissions engine, and had a 3inch exhaust with nothing bar a straight through muffler, the car ran a 13.01 at 109 mph with a w58 in it and a stock open diff (albiet blowing the pinnion and crown on the way home). the air fuel ratios where orignally 11.2 : 1 as my initial tune was a safe one (170rwkw) but i took a little bit of fuel out and added 2 degrees timing and it pulled 190rwkw.Originally Posted by 30psi 4agte
What was the IT reading on that dyno sheet?![]()
...... butt scratcher?!
wasnt hooked up, so ambient, which was about 29degrees from memory. but it was in shootout, so that wouldnt have mattered? as the proper shoot out mode doenst correct the readings.
Could be a case of the mysteriously perfect engine from factory. Could be the dyno since, for such a supposedly precision device they all give vastly different readings. Could be the copper head gasket mentioned on the other engine that's reducing the CR and the squish areas.
One thing I have to say, if thermometers were as accurate as dyno's the weather man would be lynched.
So it seems from the info I have that the standard donk I have has no need for tearing apart for rebuild. Would you guys consider at least a head service and port with NA cams or is this unwise on an untouched bottom end?
Im still in 2 minds wether to use the available td04 or go to a garrett T28 based turbine I guess the plan is to make around 180kw @ the wheels on or around 1.1 bar perhaps a tad more boost on the odd occasion.
personally stick with a t28, leaves u a good base flange that u can upgrade to....
as opposed to a td04 which wont make much power, and leaves u with a awkward flange thats hard to upgrade from....
