I've got a spare G2 head if you're keen... has minor pocking on one of the domes but nothing a quick whip of the die grinder won't fix.
Actually I got it off Justen some time ago.

    A couple of pm's sent

Lets for for now assume the crack has nothing to do with the poor running. Could it be cam phasing? You can put the gears on in a few different positions yeah? And prehaps if the injectors are firing too early or too late in relation to the intake or exhaust valve position that could cause excess fuel going out the exhaust (or building in the intake port) causing the spitting and popping. You can adjust the injector firing delay in the Wolf configuration but I havent tried that and don't think I should have to fiddle that to compensate for a problem. Both cams are 264's apparently. Should that much duration affect when the injectors should be firing?

    Gen 2 3SGTE is from ST185's and SW20 MR2's up until about 1993.

have the injectors been cleaned and tested?
cam phasing could be an issue but the best indication to figure that out is how much vacuum in the mani whilst its running smooth (in nuetral ie not driving)
if you can test that it will help, also please do it at different engine rpm to give a better indication ie 800, 1000, 1200, 1400 with afrs at these points also.

    cheers

Nah havent had them cleaned or tested, I really should, they could be leaking eh? They seem to flow about the same each as fiddling with the offsets for each injector doen't make it any better, only worse.

Vac at warm idle -1000rpm 70kp stays about the same till 1400-ish rpm and drops back a little to 69kp. Afr's are around 11.5's but it'll pop and stuff out the exhaust as it skips back to the 14's then runs better as it gets back to the 11's but still pops a bit, certinly doesn't run smoothly!

thats good vac. im kinda stumped on it dude.
what size injectors are in it?
some inferior ecu's dont like running big injectors. i know ive had this prob with a microwreck equipped car with 800cc injectors.

it had something to do with the drivers not being able to open and shut the injector fast enough.

    cheers

I had thought about this, but they are high impedance series something 13B turbo 550cc's
Apparently the wolf can run them, I could try the low impedance 550cc's that are in the 3T thats still here, they ran fine on that motor! I'll try that 2moz, It'll at least rule out dodgy injectors... Thanks for all your input man!

give it a go and see what happens.
rx7 injectors arent the most presice things around so maybe thats what it is
or they might not be evenly matched which could give you 14-1 in one cyl and 10-1 in another, then when you try to lean it off cause it to start missing on the lean cyl.

    cheers

I did try enriching and leaning out individual injectors and it wouldn't get any better so I'd say they are pretty evenly matched, and they could hardly all be leaking? prehaps dodgy spray or low fuel pressure? it's the reg that came with the new motor I should throw a guage on it and check. What base pressure do you rekon I should run? Its a sard reg...

about 35-45psi base. this is engine not running just bump the key to get the pumps going to set pressure, that way its always what you've set +map ie
    40psi base +30psi MAP=70psi rail
    +0psi MAP=40psi rail
    +-15 MAP=25psi rail
if you set 40psi at idle it it may be 65psi at 0, then 80psi at 15psiMAP

    cheers
