Wrong.
4A-GZE most certainly DOES have an intake air temp sensor.... its on the intake manifold that is bolted to the head. Quite literally, the sensor looks like a nut screwed into the manifold, with a 2-pin plug on the back of it.
From what I understand the 4AGZE has no Intake air temp sensor.
I'm gathering parts for a rebuild and ECU install and would like to be able to add this as an additional data input for my ECU. Also would like to measure effects of different IC's.
Can any of you guys suggest what I can use as said above sensor... what cars might have one to scavenge?!?!?
I'll be plumbing it as close to the intake as possible without being affected by heatsoak thru the head. ECU is adaptronic so I think nearly any sensor type will be able to work.
Any info greatly appreciated.
Cheers

are you sure.. i know the 4age has one but i cant say ive ever senon on the 4agze (big port AFM)
the AFM GZE's intake air temp sensor is built into the AFM. The MAP GZE has the sensor bolted to the #4 intake runner.
sorry to hijack for a sec, but can anyone confirm if the silvertop has one and where id find it ?
cheers
What is autosalon? Sounds kinda homo.

Built into the AFM.
Strange things are afoot at the circle K
THA = intake air temp sensor, which, as stated by Ben and JP, is located inside the AFM on any engine that has an AFM.... otherwise it is a separate sensor located in the intake tract somewhere

there we go.. i thought it had one in the afm ut it doesnt really measure charge temperature.
Yeah, after you put it through a supercharger the temp might go up a little![]()

well since I am ripping out the AFM then I won't have my temp sensor anymore..
which is what I already knew,
which is why I asked the question.
which brings me back to where I started...
Please read again from top....
Actual useful info this time would be great.

stop being a stooge.
i believe a commodore one will suffice. either that or just about any engine with a MAP sensor will come with a suitable one you can rip out.. you would just need to devise a suitbale way of mounting it..my thought would be drill a suitable hole in an intercooler pipe and tap in a suitbale fitting.
what temp sensor to use depends on what ECU you are using.
