needed the slipper yoke section, didn't want to take the box apart, and then have to re-mount the sender.

well we have only really spent about an hour or so on the actual circuit so far... and no, he's doing it for love of the game.. (sicko)

the dividing bit was easy, with the multimeter on it, we have the pulse divided nicely, the converting to analog and the level of the signal is what we just have to play with.

If we get it working, he's interested in making a few units, to sort of pay for the time invested...

got it all working last night, seems fine, however under full throttle (probably because the ute is a fair bit lighter and the diff ratio different) we were hitting the rev limiter before it shifted, so we changed the division and it shifted just off the limiter, and also didn't try and 'hunt' right on 60km/h as it did before..

once we changed it it only clipped the limiter for a tiny brief second when the revs in first rose very quickly due to an unexpected torque surplus

well most of that went over my head!

Good to see you got it working ok. Why couldn't you just manualise the box and don't worry about stock wiring? Then the speed sensor issue should only be for the speedo not selecting gears.

i wanted it to actually shift automaticly the speedo is actually a cable job anyway the speed sensor is purely for the puter..

Okay, now we have a new and different symptom, now the intercooler is all hooked up properly, its a fair bit quicker.. but on the 1-2 shift, its sitting on the rev limiter.. for somewhere between 1 & 2 seconds, NASTY.. feels like an eternity, we also still get the check engine light coming on, so we have looked to feed in the other speed sensor into the puter.. the wiring diagram shows it going to the dash and back, it does something in the dash before returning to the ECU, we suspect this is another division, when we fed in the modded signal from our current circuit, it wouldn't shift back till much lower than it should, and went up gears entirely too quickly, seems the ECU wants both speed signals to do things properly... we have a plan, and hope we can sort this out tuesday..

    yep
spd has a certain number of pulses

and sp1 has another bunch of pulses

or in the soarers ecu its sp+ and sp- for the main speed signal

just adjust the divider by not so much

u will need very fine adjustments to get it perfect

when i set mine to be just like std settings it changes bit early

then i adjust it ever so slightly and it changes later sort of ok but then when slowly down

it doesnt know what gear to be in if yr coasting

if i adjust it a tiny bit more it hits the rev limiter

if i adjust it to far the other way the ecu says hey it cant change that fast so it keeps the retardation and the soft gear change goin for 2 or 3 seconds

its weird when it does this

its certainly pretty odd, did even wierder stuff when we actually hooked up the power wire

hoping to get it sorted tonight a bit more.

Hey Steve how did ya go with the kickdown cable? If ya want I have a rather large document on how to get your tranny to select manually if your interested?Great to see that ya got your tranny working.

Haven't tried to fit it, at the moment our ghetto rigged version is still working fine i'll fit the other one when i have to take the pan off

not really, getting it to select manually would have been hella easier than the sh!t we went through to get it to work properly
