adr's would not have anything to do with it
adr's relate to original design rules for manufacturers
ncop or in vic for example the VSI's is a different thing entirely
Factory parts from other Toyotas would be aftermarket to the Toyota you haveIE not OEM for that vehicle.
Bending struts... I am concerned, as I don't believe that is compliant with ADRs.

NCOP etc are a guide to ensure the ADRs are complied with. Sorry, but anything you do in contravention of the ADRs is illegal... and won't pass an engineering inspection (unless well hidden, and may present itself during a post-crash inspection, rendering your insurance invalid)
Keep it safe people, your life isn't worth a few bucks saving.

the modification guidelines say that anything that is a factory part and is swapped over in the brakes or the suspension department is considered to be completely legal and not needing compliance or inspection. It may be a victoria only thing I though. I can find the relevant clauses?
Hi,
i'm fairly sure that would only relate to that particular model of car. Ie you could use the ra23 gt suspension on an lt ra23 as it is the same model. If you were to turn around and use rt130 struts - whilst they fit fairly easily - if found after an accident that they are not the original equipment and were not engineered for that car then your insurance can be invalid!!!! Hence why when mine is all in and ready it will be getting engineered and blue plated.
It would be interesting to see the clauses to interpret.

Ben is on the money. Swapping out for factory parts from a vehicle model other than the one being swapped into is considered in the same boat as aftermarket, and thus not a factory replacement part.

good thing i cant get insurance for a while, i was thinking some adjustable strut top would do the trick, as it is only out buy a degree and a bit, it would defiantly but one of the new struts as my old original items were still within specs.
anyhow, ive now done 500km with these including a near accident and they are still going strong.
cheers sam.

Copied from the department of transport website:
4.2 Any additions and/or modifications to the original vehicle must be supported by evidence of ADR compliance
Engineer's certificate shows compliance of modified parts. Bent struts are ok provided an engineer passes them.
Even mods like aftermarket light gas discharge lamps for example, require compliance with, you guessed it, ADR's. They require the vehicle be fitted with self leveling rear suspension and headlight washing system to pass.
That's how I know it to be also...Originally Posted by af300e

come off a much larger car.
you can also get slotted rotors for these i believe!
according to the DBA catalogue.
I have a feeling these have the traditional early 80's positive camber inducing angle. Correct me if I am wrong.
Other things to consider, the stud pattern to bolt to the steering knuckle, strut length, insert stroke, spring seat... etc etc etc. If you can prove all of these to be ok (ie measure and fit), then I am sure there will be more than enough people thanking you for providing another source of parts.
Cheers, Owen

with the mx62
- steering arm to strut bolt diameter?
- if above NO, using mx62 steering arm, ball joint to steering knuckle taper?
i reckon those two will fuck you up
what length is an mx62 strut body and how does that compare to your std one?

hi call me dumb but what model is xt130? celica corona? i need bigger brakes for my 4agte ke35. i just need a few Q's answered if its not to much trouble. what wheel bearings did you use? ke or xt130? i tried to do a brake upgrade a while ago with ra23 struts and hilux 4 pots but i could not get around bearing size. my car does not stop real good with the hair dryer on it as expected. and need to get onto it asap. do the ra60 disc's bolt straight onto xt130 hubs? do the xt130 hubs have the same stud pattern as ke series? would it have been easier to get xt130 springs reset and not cut off and reweld spring saddles? i dont have any trouble fabricating parts but im short on cash so i dont want to be buying lots of parts from the wreckers. this brake conversion looks like it will stop my car on a penny
xt130 is a coronna, bacause you are using xt130 struts and hubs you can use the bearing you get with them, if your lucky you can clean and repack. the ra60 disc bolt straight up to the hubs no problems, as far as i know they have the same stud pattern, it is 110x4 i think. i dont think the ke bearing top will mate with the xt130 spring, so it would be a good idea to cut and shut spring saddles.
cheers
