    Default Quick 3S-GE driveshaft question

Are ST-162 and SW-20 3S-GE driveshafts the same?

I'm assuming they use the same gearbox in both cars but are the lengths and thicknesses the same between the 2 models?

surely someone with a toyota parts list could answer this by looking up the respective part numbers of the 2... anybody?

Part numbers in the EPC are different... they don't even look similar in the diagrams, the LH side one looks similar, but the RH side one looks nothing like a celica item

cheers, that's all I wanted to know.

I need SW20 drive shafts for the 2ZZ conversion and have found some cheap ST162 3S-GE one's and wondering if they were the same... oh well.

Just be careful with sw20 shafts, i think there are different variations depending on model year and lsd or no lsd etc.

i think the sv-21 camry drive shafts are interchangeable with a 162.

    not 100% on that though
As they say in the book, assembly is the reverse of dismantling, but slower cos you forgot where all the bits are

Craig - there's actually a better one where someone has done the exact conversion I'm looking at into an AW11. http://www.mr2board.com/forums/engin...swap-info.html and yes, I've known about it for some time

Hamgatan - finding a set over here at a wreckers is still preferable, but I'll keep that in mind.
