anyone?? someone must know something
well i've tried searching the forums and none of the topics answer my problem..
anyway i just finished work not too long ago.. i drove my car home and decided to check if it was misfiring coz it ran like crap.. i pulled the leads off at the dizzy 1 by 1.. and found out all of them have spark.. at one time only 1 lead will be unplugged.. for eg. i pull one off.. check it.. reconnect it and pull of another.. not like i had them all off at one stage.. neway.. i left one lead off for too long.. it was misfiring for a bit then died.. i reconnected the lead and tried starting it but it will not start now
i dont get it.. it was running just fine now it wont start.. could the plug for that cylinder be flooded?
i was thinking of trying to start the car later tonight or maybe clutch starting it a few times..
i'd check the plugs but i dont have any tools at the moment to check them..
by the way its a small port 4AGE
any help will be appreciated
thanks

try changing the leads, we came across that problem on a mates bigport where the lead from coil pack to dizzy was stuffed so that fixed his situation![]()
I have been pruned by old man river!!!!!
so how does it work.. power from ignitor to dizzy?Originally Posted by dimmy77_03

40,000+ volts ALWAYS wants to go someplace.
If it can't get to ground thru the plug, the wire, the cap, the rotor or the coil to cap lead, it's going to try the insulating tower on the coil. That's what yours found.
It was probably already cracked or had a layer of dirt that helped it along.
Doesn't happen all the time, or even very often, but not giving the spark an easier outlet, forces it to hunt for a way that may damage things.
I've got a spare 4A-GE smallport lead if you want it PM me![]()

i think you can check ur coil using the FSM to see the resistances. When playing around with mine I had brittle dizzy connector and it eventually broke off and I didn't notice until it let go. Slowly check your wiring and earth contacts around there as well.
i have a spare smallport 4age sitting in my garage that i have since replaced with a 4agze in my rolla. If you want some bits shoot me a PM.
Cheers
thanks everyone but i fixed it.. it was the coil.. it shit itself and thanks to LeeRoy for the coil
