Just reading the latest Option mag.. a guy put in a Blitz S/C with a Trust TD04 on a 1NZ Vitz.. it made 195ps.
Not that you needed more encouragement, the 1NZ + Blitz S/C is a laugh a mile.
FYI, my 1NZ doesn't have a special key to get it to start.. maybe it's an ADM thing?
i'm sure u'll have enough space to get the airbox to face backwards? or just put it aside? my airbox is really just beside the exhaust manifold, and with my blitz intake kit, the intake is on top of the exhaust manifold, and barely an inch from firewall.. with a RWD format surely there's enough space for some sort of intake ?
edit : the accelerator cable might be in an awkward position though

altho i know japlish decided on a sr20. id still like to see this done.
anyone know the weights of the 4k and 1nzfe and also ke70 and an echo? i think this would be a good excercise to do with world oil production one day soon going into decline. vios gt was getting 80FWKW's im sure with the right engine management and intake mods you could still get just as much as that in FR form. and from a 800kg car would make for a good power to weight ratio i guess.... 1
that being said... id love to have a NP61 (1nzfe+kp61 - less the K)... fule miser engine, small car with all the character of a mitsy RC colt, Ae82, or an N12 and in FR form... with aobut 800kg in stock stdandard form (im guessing that one)
err... 80 FWHP is more accurate... the engine only makes 109hp out of factory.. and initially i started out with 70FWHP with a custom direct induction intake kit.. went back to stock induction + blitz sus 6", camcon, Lukey ultraflo muffler etc etc... and i squeezed 82FWHP out of it... atm it's a bit more as the car's been retuned, new plugs etc but i haven't been keeping track..Originally Posted by xcedricx
in RWD format i'd expect 45 to 50 RWHP? keep in mind the motor makes good mid-range torquethough i'd agree with bill and say the 2NZ is a very rev-happy motor despite peope's opinion about it being lazy..

ahh my bad... i missed that one... or just got too excited. im guessing 50rwHP is pretty low and the only + after doing all that work would be the great fuel econ. out of a ke70... but i guess if you want it as a comp level drift pig it might be out of range.
what price do 2nzfe's go for... are they very similar... like the diference between a 5m or 6m? just internal differances i guess im getting at.
2NZ engine alone.. i saw one the other day for 999 bucks, no loom or ECU... and the motor was missing alternator and belts.. but yea i've heard of engine, loom and ecu for 1500 to 2000 bucks (both 1NZ and 2NZ).. they solid and very abusable engines, hence not many being around at wreckers..
and afaik the only difference between them is the internal sizes.. 1NZ and 2NZ are essentially the same block, just different bore and piston sizes.. head have different flow and port sizes..

i got a price on a complete 2nz setup for 1250, but yeah xcedricx is right.....i went sr20![]()
i'd still like to do it though.
