show us some pics Mitch! (of the car, not the poor dog)
hey Im back from 4 days in sunny Brisbane and back on th4 chase for more Classic Celicas to get involved. Might have to twist Invids arm to make sure he can make it even just for a lil while onthe 21st/
I hit a poor dog on Thursday morning near Civic on the way to work and smashed the fron of Tweety! Poor bloody old blue healer went right under the car and spat out the back. Looked like he was a gonner but the owners said he only has a broken hip and will be fine. Now that one tough dog considering the damage to the car. Shit load of mess to the LH guard, bumper (my new one!), lower sill, panels etc. Will have to have a proper look tomorrow and hope has not damaged IC and IC pipe back to turbo!!!!!
Just when I was thinking that all I needed was that all I needed was to find out how to fix the elec short...BUGGER IT!!!!!!
Will let you know of the part damage etc....

You can count me in for the cruise if by some miracle I get my engine back and back in my car by then.
damo
Sure hope you can make it Damo as we want more 28s!
bad news is the poor dog I ran over had to be put down due to the injuries so it must have been a bloody sad day for the family. Owner didnt want to put the dog through lots of operations with a possibility that he would not make it anyway.
Now trying to get the celica back on the road to make this event...fingers crossed.
cheers
Mitch

Ah Toymods Dyno day is the Sunday before So I'm just looking for a few good long drives before the engine gets de tuned.
I'd like to talk River into comming along but his GT is having issues. Still looking for a good Chance to get the 2 GT's next to each other.
Cheers
Simon
Beige.... The new Black!!!
I think River has a leaking master cylinder but i think it is still OK to drive.
I havnt talked to all the TOYMODS Classics as I didnt want to divert any modders away from Steve's (Hypo) Classic run to Newcastle. Its too late in the day to get to Newy and back on Sunday night so we couldnt get any interest here.
iBZ (DQIKST) was asking around but not sure if any other can come. Would be great if you could make it to.
Cheers
Mitch

Hey Mitch,
Finally got my car back from the sprayers last night. Was in there for nearly a month. Looks a whole lot better than what it did, which is all i wanted. There are a few flaws that im not too happy about, but i didnt pay big bucks so it is to be expected. Considering they did quite a bit of panel work im pretty happy with it. The roof and bonnet look great. Ill have to show you it, see what you think. I know its not perfect, but considering it had a key scratch from corner to corner and dents in the doors roof and boot, its pretty sweet.
Are you going to be home tomorrow (sunday) afternoon? I might bring it around then if you are not too busy so i can drop off the dyno money too. I hope this cruise will still happen and not flop like they usually do. I spoke to Barnesy yesterday he still hasnt managed to get his registered.
Anyways ill be intouch mate, good luck with your repairs and let me know about tomorrow arvo. cheers
Hey Curly off the record what are the flaws your not happy with?
It'll be registered in time, im just fixing/cleaning up the od things before I get it registered, will keep you guys updated.![]()
Thanks
Matt

Hey Matt...
Im probably just being picky, they are minor things... but i guess thats why im picking up on them cos they could've been easily avoided. Just stupid things like a couple of paint drips, some chips and cracks painted over without being filled, outside border of the underside of the boot was meant to be painted, cos i was going to carpet most of it, just wanted paint round the outside, and some overspray on some of the chrome trim. and the passenger door doesnt close properly, so it doesnt sit flush with the rear quarter but hopefully i can adjust that.
I know its picky, its just i ended up blowing way over budget to get it to look better. Dont get me wrong it looks great, i just know people in the CCG will pick up on things like that. But yeh, dont mention anything to Scotty cos i dont want him to get pissed off, cos he did do a good deal i was just hoping that stupid little things like that wouldnt happen. Meh...
Yours looks great in the photo, cant wait to see it when we cruise cos i didnt really look at it all that closely at Steve's house cos i knew it had been sold. But from first opinions it looked sweet as. I hadnt seen a 23 in that good a condition in ages. When do you think you'll be able to get it registered, cos i would like to see it again?
Anyways, talk soon mate,
P.S Mitch - is that list of cruisers updated? If not, can you post the new list of who are defnites, aswell as the hopefuls as to get an idea of the turnout? Cheers
No such thing as a perfect paint job Curly...no matter how much you pay. Its only part of a complete package so money is better spent on engine, interior, stereo etc...
I keep updating the list as I get to talk to the lads so have a look at the bottom of the first post and see when I last updated/edited. All the cars are hopefuls mate, no one is a dead cert until they roll up on the day haha. Welcome to the world of Classic Celicas!
Have yoy done the flyers?
Im off to see Mr Trapani now about fixing Tweety.
Cheers
Mitch

If you want a hand adjusting the door etc I can give you a hand, I had a quick go at the bonnet gaps but I think the front of the car is across so I couldn't do much with it with the time I had free. I think it looks pretty good, I hate to say this but im a fan of white![]()
Matt
I seriously doubt my car will even be started let alone be complete by the time the cruise is on. Third party property insurance expired on Friday, but rego is still valid until the end of August, so for the strength in numbers factor, and a sweet sounding RG, I could be in. That would, of course, be hypocritical, after having chastised the uninsured scum who trashed my car though. If it comes, there shall be no shots of the bum though! There is also a good chance I'll be needed at work that day, but if I can get out of it, I'll come with Simon.
PS, Mitch, on the topic of Matt Trapani- I've earnt the money required to get the job done, and I've been trying to a get a hold of him for the last two weeks- If there's something I've missed, please enlighten me via e-mail! Cheers, Tristan.
EDIT: Matt: White FTW!
Nikita the RA23 is almost finished.
