Yeh that'd be awesome if you could help with the door...

Do you wanna come round on the weekend maybe?? I got the bootlock in which is good, better than a hole and masking tape. lol. what does FTW mean by the way, you better not be knocking my fridge on wheels lol.

And yeh with the bonnet, my hinges are shagged like all f*&% so i gotta ring Phil and get him to order me some brand newies. After i recoop from the paintjob that is. lol and then ill be respraying the front end, and the rear (trying to figure out what to do with my piece of perspex) lol... hopefully before the cruise. Im so keen to see how many show up. I hope we get an awesome turnout, its about time we got this happening.

So yeh Matt if you're free on the weekend swing by and have a chat. Ive got your number so ill probably just give you a call on Friday arvo or something. What have you got left to do for rego? Have you still been cruising with your gf in the rolla? lol, i know how much it sux not being able to cruise hey.

    Anyways talk soon

Curly, FTW is for the win. ie, white is a good thing!

I own Zane's old white celica. I met you outside work a while back. Our cars looked pretty closeto twins back then!

Matt, I'll PM you my number. BTW, who in their right mind makes a trip to Bungendore! I keep meaning to drop by, but first it was exams, now it's uni holidays, and, well... The offer for extra shifts came by, so I took it- I'm working between 60-65 hours p/w at the moment... And almost all of that pay is being thrown at the celica .

Matt Trapani has sprayed some of the CCG celicas, and his work is top notch.

    oooohhhh, we met in Fyshwick??

Haha i remember that, you came running out, as though someone was trying to steal it. I remember that. lol. Yeh they do look pretty similar, slightly different whites though. have you done much to that thing recently??

Yeh Bungendore is a bad idea, i went past back from the coast, and ended up buying a HJ One Tonner that i saw out there about a week later, now i cant get rid of the stupid thing!!! Ill nevvvveerrr go back. lol

    Cheers

Lol! Full story was I was in the workshop, and one of the floor staff called me and said someone was breaking into my car So I pissbolted down the front, for obvious reasons, and it turns out that the floor staff are wankers .

I rebuilt the motor shortly after we met, and that was pretty well it for a while. I was run into by a tool in a ute, and insurance wrote it off, but it is getting a ressurection, and it will be something very pretty quite soon. I've gone a bit nostalgic lately, so I'm sticking with the RG, plus some spicy bits for a bit of extra kick in the handling department. I figure I'd rather bastardise a corolla in the long run, because my car has a fair bit of charm which I'd like to keep... How's your rig going mate?

Matt does some REALLY good work. See my members ride thread if you want to see how it turned out.

    http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9973&

Matt's work starts about 1/2 down the first page with the car in primer. Mr Eacott can testify to how stuffed my car was before Matt got to it. Chicken wire and newspaper for a passenger sill, bogged rear end to hide a shunt up the arse etc.

    Hey Damo,

Your 28 looks awesome mate, great to see another white one! lol Do you remember what the paint code is, cos ours look nearly identical in colour. Mine's Subaru Pure White... can you make it to the cruise? Id love to see it, it looks brilliant.

With the ram tubes, does that add power to an 18RG?? Ive only got redline rectangles on it, i was worried about dirty air getting into the motor or whateva. Our engines seem pretty damn consistant too, cos we both have 40mm solex. When mine was first built about 2 years ago it got nearly the same dyno, 0.2kw difference. Hope you can make it to the cruse and congrats with the beautiful ride..

Does Matt own a licenced shop?? I had some insurance work done, which is why i ended up getting the rest sprayed, i shouldve got him to do it. lol woops

Curly_23, no good this weekend flying up to Brisbane for the weekend. Its ready for rego now, but want to install my solex locks and a couple new weatherstrips before I bring her out. Fingers crossed next weekend ill get her blue slipped and rego'd As for new hinges there unavailable, I think I brought the last new R/H couple of months ago you never no tho.

tricky, The only real reason I went to Bungendore was to go to the wood works cafe which is pretty good.

    Curly

Mine is Toyota white 033 or 030, I can't remember off the top of my head (it's a 70's colour). My car won't be at the cruise as I am getting a new block machined up cause mine was leaking oil and coolant badly.

I run unifilter socks on my ram tubes so there's no chance of getting any crud in the engine. I haven't run the engine with anything else so I can't compare that for you sorry.

Matt tries to avoid insurance work due to the hassles the insurance company puts him through.

about the bonnet hinges Barnsey, im pretty sure Phil Eacott imports them in bulk from Japan because i remember i was going to buy a pair a few months back but didnt have the cash. They were approx $150 for the pair.

With Solex, have you shopped around? I used to have a solex on the boot, which was jimmied off (note the swolen hole), and so i need another one. Repco and Autopro and whatnot are telling me you cant buy a boot lock for that model celica, and that you'd have to modify one. Any clues?

Also can i come out to the shop one afternoon and grab that boot i supplied?
    Cheers..

    tricky, done thanks for that

Curly, If Phil has any sets left over after you buy a pair let him know that im interested. I got my set of locks from Autobarn, yeah they only come with the door locks. I will be welding up my boot hole soon and also my Left hand lock hole so I wont be needing one of my locks, if you can modify the lock to suit your door key im sure I can work something out. Yeah the boots still sitting at work so drop by.

    Hey Matt..
Even though ive already had it sprayed, would it be possible to get mine welded up with little fuss?? I was meant to get my boot and passenger door locks shaved but couldnt manufacture a boot button in time for the respray, so i just gave up. Would it be expensive to weld it up and paint again? Some f(&^#%wit scratched it the other day too!!!! GRRRRR boy was i pissed. It doesnt look too bad, hopefully itll buff out. Ill have to get you to take a look at it when we catch up.

Get yellowboy rego'd man so we can cruisssssee the streets!
    Catch ya

Hey Curly, have you made up those flyers you promised? Were you able to catch up with any of the other Classic Celica guys?

If anyone can get their ride rolling for the 21st it would be great to have you join the cruise. All we want is all the Celicas for a few hours to go cruising for some pics.So even if the car is a but dusty at the momemnt all shots will be from a distance so just good all round shots.

Any probs call me on 040899441 (AFTER HOURS ONLY!)

    Cheers
