Got my beast booked in for a blue slip on Tuesday so fingers crossed there wont be any hassles and I can get it rego'd that same day. I'll let you guys know Tuesday night

Curly, The 1st scratch or dent is always a killer! Someone reversed into the rolla the other week Dont know how much scotty would charge to spray the boot again but there probably be a couple of hours "shaving" the boot lock. Im planning on running a solinoid in the boot lid (still not sure what solinoid im going to use yet) and also run a cable for emergency use

Hey Mitch, nah i didnt make those flyers. Seemed like a waste of time, cos i have spoken to a handful of guys lately, if i knew where they worked or whateva... ive left my number on the back of a CCG card and told them to call me, but they always sound a bit hesitant cos their Celicas are a bit beaten up or cos they arent really interested in car clubs which is a real shame.

I get so pissed off with people that just arent interested or ashamed of their cars. My first one was an absolute dump visually, but it hauled ass arent surprised people which is why i loved it so much. You could smash it anywhere and not worry about the paint or breaking something. There were nice parts in it, which i concentrated on. lol nice front end, nice dash assembly, nice seats, blue carpet, black bonnet.... haha man i miss that car. Anyways so no, i didnt end up making them. This better still happen, i hope all you huys dont pull out for whatever reason cos its going to be heaps of fun. Hopefully the sun is shining, and we get a few of us turning up. Please dont turn away just cos yours isn't as nice as some. Mine was possibly the ugliest 23 i had ever seen, and i still went. haha

Anyways theres my little speech... i hope we at least get 5 or 6 of us.

And Matt... yeah the first scratch does suck a lot. Im not sure if it'll come out, ive never buffed a car before or done a cut and polish, but you can feel it with your fingernail which i figured wasnt a good sign. Good luck with the rego. I cant imagine you'd have any problems cos its pretty nice... i was looking into a solenoid for a while too, but gave up cos i ran out of time. Anyways catch up in a week everyone!!

    Cheers
    -Curly.

With Solex, have you shopped around? I used to have a solex on the boot, which was jimmied off (note the swolen hole), and so i need another one. Repco and Autopro and whatnot are telling me you cant buy a boot lock for that model celica, and that you'd have to modify one. Any clues?

Also can i come out to the shop one afternoon and grab that boot i supplied?
    Cheers..

For what it is worth, KE20-KE55 Solex lock kits fit the Celica's pretty well. Just have to do a slight mod on the boot lock. Ten minutes work max.

Phil, jusdt need a carby, and a day permit on the brown 22, and you can drive a classic Celica. Looking at a day permit for the "72.

    cheers Chuck.

It FAILED..., the rear brakes locked up during the brake test. My old man fixed them for me this arvo so it'll be registered on Thursday morning So I WILL BE at the cruise on Sat. Also where are we meeting at? The club at Woden or the Museum? Museum sounds good!

Curly. I wont be at work Thursday or Friday so I will bring the window stopper with me on Sat.

I think im the only one from sydney coming down by the look of this thread.
Thanks for the heads up about the cold weather, will definitely be rugged up just in case.
the celica has undergone some mods, including racing jacket and fibre glass bonnet (skin only for extra-extra light weight) from jack and strut brace from Eddi, still needs to be powder coated though. Looking forward to tomorrow!!!

iBZ and others said they might come so I was hoping to be surpised. They even posted early in the tread that they were coming. Either way we ALWAYS welcome Celicas to our balmy Canberra! I hope to have my 'Jack Jacket' soon too.

Hey fellas dont forget your CBs too. They make life easy on a cruise.

I'll be at work . Besides, my car is finally off the road But I'll see if I can make the detour to turn up in a Misubishi Canter for a short period of time I think that is the most smilies I've ever included in such a short thread ! Will photos be posted here, or even in a dedicated thread? I'll be keen to have a squiz! I sincerely hope the event meets everyone's expectations.

Is Simon definately coming as I have not heard from him ina while???
