    Default costs involved w50 r&r

    ok
    so the w50 behinf the 18rg needs bearings.
    What is the best way out,- will a w58 slot straight in?
    What is the cost to re-race the gearbox?
    Does anyone have a cost on remove and replace a g/box in a ra28

    Straight up, I can tell you that the W58,7,5 all have different bolt patterens than what the W50 does, so you are looking at a bell housing change as well.

    I am also not sure on the out put splines they may be different, some one else maybe able to confirm.

    ok I asked this question about putting a w58 behind the 18r/g a little while back and got these replies. You will need a 21rc bellhousing. If you get a w58 out of RA65 or RT142 corona, you wont have to do any mods to the shifter hole. Tail shaft will bolt up, you will have to do a small simple mod with the gearbox x member. Getting your bearings, seals and syncro's replaced will cost you around the $500 mark.
