Hey guys,
My car doesn't have a choke, so when I start it I need to pump the accelerator, but to keep it running I have to keep the revs up around 3000rpm for about 10 mins or so until the cars warmed up or else it will conk out. It doesn't even seem to attempt to idle, as soon as i let go of the accelerator, the revs drop and it conks out. After 10 mins when its warmed up it idles at around 2000rpm. The only details I have on the engine are as follows:
I know it used to run a weber but its running the stock carby at the moment I believe.Engine
Hybrid Single-cam, 2T Head/3T Bottom End
Engine was just put together, care of the team at Grumpy Engines. It's a 2T head which has been fully reconditioned along with a 3T bottom end with lumpy camshaft. Had all the gaskets replaced, completely serviced.
I don't really know all that much so I was hoping someone could help me out and point me in the right direction. Thanks
I would do the following, tuned the carby, ignition system points gap, timing distributer cap for corrosion and coil, check if you have the right spark plug heat rating and check for any vaccume leaks on the manifold. If you don't have a thermostat installed it will take longer to warm up. Let us know how you go.
