Clutch and flywheel tips,advice needed!Pics

I'll rough up the flywheel a bit more i think

Another question. this may sound stupid but. Does the 3sgte have a spigot bearing? I dont recall seeing one when i took the pressure plate off when i stripped the motor, but the engine rebuilder says he "thinks" it should have one.
Now i went to toyota and they said they dont list one for a st185. Now i'm not too sure

flywheel might be ok as it is.. once it gets little wear there will be no difference anyway.. it's mostly to clean the surface so that when you begin to use the clutch, an even layer of resin is transferred to it (otherwise it shudders... much like brakes 'warping')

does your gearbox have a spigot?

for some reason (which i never bothered to find out...) many (if not all) FWD boxes don't have spigot bearings....

anyone know?

Thats what i was told, fwd's dont have a spigot bearing. Also toyota had no listing for a awd box (st185). both transversely mounted..

Yeah, FWD boxes (C and E anyway) have the input shaft supported by two bearings, a lot of the RWD boxes only have 1 bearing within the gearbox supporting the shaft, therefore the spigot bearing is needed for support.

Another way of aligning the disc is to just get a socket which is a firm fit so then you have a convenient handle to move the disc around with.

cant remember using a clutch alaigning tool on my e series gbox just slapped it on no worries worked first time no shudders etc. If i were you id get a new clutch imho its not worth having to change it any sooner than you have to maybe i think like this because i work on a midmount
