    Hosking
You can easily get hold of an 18rg head gasket, Let me know if you need one as I have a couple of spares. Try www.gimmiecarparts.coom.au

airfireman, gimmecarparts charges about $20 for an 18R gasket and $80 for an RG one. They are the same apart from a couple of hole sizes which don't matter.

I would just use the 18R one.

Ok a couple of options for 18R-G throttle cable set up.

Mounting to use K&N or RamFlo filters

This one would normally mount in front of the Ram Tube

well that looks simple enough, is there any specific cable used or is a custom made item

    Sam,

Rodger will do you a complete kit to bolt on for a small price, or if you had searched, you would have found this also... (It's even listed in the Classic Celica Forum Index)

Ah, I just remembered you have an RA40, so you probably wouldn't have known of the existance of such a thing...

ohhh thats not fair, a 40 is classic in its own special way, umm just read the thread by stradlater and it would not work as my pedal is levered from the top not bloted to the floor like i am guessing the 23/28's are. thank you all the same.

Rodger how much for this kit, im guessign its bolt on kind of work.

The earlier Celicas are joined to the floor, but most of the design is very similar in principle...

That writeup will turn the pedal into one similar to the RA40 and join a cable, but the principles will still be the same in your case as you already have the top hinged pedal...

well i have figured out my rg setup

    head:88230
    cams:88231
    valves:approx 45mm intake approx 37mm exhaust

    and i have read somewhere that 4 mm dome = 8.7:1 & 7mm dome = to 9.7:1 comp
if that is correct i have 8.7:1 pistons

    will be running twin solex's

looks like a good setup for a first car

18RC HG can certainly be used, but there is more risk of the timing cover leaking oil.

Sagluren, RA40 pedal is interchangeable with the RA2x (except it doesnt hinge at the floor), so the spoken of mod will certainly fit. And yeah, RA40 is old, but its about as classic as a VC commonwhore or XE Foulcan.
