For my application (w50, 4.1:1 and 14 inch rims), going to 4.3kg aluminium from 8.6 kg stock gives an equivalent weight reduction of:
    1st - 96 kg
    2nd - 39 kg
    3rd - 21 kg
    4th - 13 kg
    5th - 10 kg

    or 12 kg stock gives
    1st - 176 kg
    2nd - 71 kg
    3rd - 37 kg
    4th - 21 kg
    5th - 18 kg

Either way it will be a big benefit off the line for hillclimbs!

O man I couldn't find any on eBay. Mayb the store is shut down? And I didn't see any on kimeari but I may have read past it il check again. Thanks for the info. (is anyone else having trouble starting new threads, my wife has torn her rear engine mount out of the block and I'm not sure what to do. Weld it and re drill/tap it or just tap it bigger)

That is for a 22R flywheel (drill and tap your crank to fit), however you could ask them what the price for an 18R flywheel (part number 130181) is. Expect it to take a month before they send it, and a week worth of freight. They may also do a deal for you including an Excedy clutch, as that is how they also sell their flywheels.

    For kameari, try this link

    Or JUN part number 2001M-T019

As for your missus' engine mount, it wouldn't be advisable to weld the block while the engine is together (lots of heat with oil vapours in the crankcase...), so I would suggest oversize tap if there is enough meat to accomodate it.

Curiosity told me to Go out to the shed and weigh my stock 18rg flywheel = 9.2kg (with hope that my scales are accurate).
A while ago I replaced it with the 4.4kg kameari after being advised by many to avoid aluminum. (from here http://www.kameariusa.com/18RG_Flywheel.php)... I can't say if it's good or bad as I never used the stock flywheel, however would still recommend it, because my car drive great!. One note however is that the actual item doesn't look like the one pictured. It doesn't have the big holes around the outside to move the weight closer to the centre. (equivellant to an even lighter flywheel).

    1st - 109 kg - 10% of the total car's weight!
    2nd - 45 kg
    3rd - 24 kg
    4th - 15 kg
    5th - 12 kg

So in 1st gear, it would be like me and a carton of beer missing from the car... I know that I have had a car go from dorifto happy to slug when I put a 110kg bloke in the passenger seat...

In a Datto 120Y or Suzuki Mighty Boy?

Having an extra body in The 88 makes SFA difference. Sure it may shave a few poofteenths of a second off acceleration times, but the difference isn't from "dorifto happy to slug". Certainly not in a well-tuned 18R-G set up.

18R-C powered RA40A bugback. Stock carb, extractors, 2" exhaust. The massif front swaybar, with lowered front springs and new dampners, and stock rear used to make the back end very wonky, and the front stable.

2nd that - in multiple cars. 110kg makes a big difference.
