    Hi,

LOL, I'm not slagging the 120Y. I think they're a good little car in their day.

I just used it as a point that if you have an underpowered and/or lightwieght vehicle, then you may notice a big difference by having a passenger.

Personally, I have yet to feel a big difference in any car I have driven from me driving alone, to me driving with a passenger... this includes a lot of cars including 18R-C powered auto RA28s.

must be your driving style old man River hehe
I used to feel a difference in 18RC powered RA23's
Street: RA23 with 18RG (off the road being rebuilt, rust cut out, etc, usual story)
Track/Rally: TA23 with 18RG Cams Logbooked (my baby)

The amazing thing about common sense is it's not that common...

    Hi,

Hehehe it must be my driving style. I guess that's why I don't notice little incremental changes in performance. Though I did notice a slight difference between the "18R-C auto" Trini and the re-made "18R-GTE manual" Trini.

What you found the new Trini can find the red part of the tacho easier than the old Trini?

    I hope I notice a difference from an 18rg in an rt104 to an 18rg in a ta22

    Has anyone got dimensions of:

    (a) 18RG inlet manifold / gasket
    (b) twin-solex manifold (carby end)

I can probably find the basic DCOE pattern but I'm also interested to know how close the two dcoes are to each other.

    Shifty

If no one measures during today I can post up dimensions when I get home from work this evening and I find a manifold.

I'll measure the sidedraught bolt pattern, the centre spacing of the two carbs on the 18R-G manifold and a distance between throttle shaft ends.

Finally got to a computer that could allow me to download a picture.

Rodger, that'd be great - even if not for me, just to add to the tech reference.

I'm fitting some aftermarket throttles and will need to make an adapter - just trying to plan it out and don't currently have access to the engine etc.

Rodger has a whole ITB setup you might persuade him to part with seeing it's just being gather dust the last 10 years...eh Dodger

    Well.

They are here anytime you can get across.

I cannot see me doing anything at all with them and I reckon by the time I do Ayden will be wanting me to help him with his cars.

I looked into those DCOE ITB setups and they're ridiculously expensive.

As such I have a a 44mm quad-Mikuni EFI setup (from a bike) that's ready to roll, just have to adapt it. I like making my life hard

From memory, different 18R-G manifolds have different spacing between the carbs.
If anyone posts up carb spacings, it would be good to post up the manifold number too.
