As per diag. I got power from red wire battery and orange and yellow for the injectors.
remember when i did a test and i had power to each injector, so in saying that, the ecu is not earthing it through the yellow and orange wires....
    the loom is grounded ...

Is anybody else still running carbs on their 18rg?
The redline manifold and redline linkages and my 45mm webers are having some slight issues
The runners on the manifold are not long enough the mounting point for the linkages was too close to the head and the linkages were touching and not moving properly
I filled the mount holes and moved them further out. so that sorted that issue
Now my problem is that to get at the vacuum outlet for the brake booster I would need a right angle fitting, But i would not be able to screw in as there isn't enough room to turn it between the two flanges
I have now gone down the route of getting vacuum from all 4 runners using a very expensive array of speedflow fittings.
Now the problem with that is that the fittings are too tall coming off the manifold and are hitting the underside of the head
My plan is to make a 15mm aluminium "flange spacer" to space it all out and ressurect this issue

Question 1: Does anybody have a cad drawing of the intake flange?
Question 2: Who else has used a redline manifold and/or had similar issues?

    Cheers,

    Peter

i didn't get a chance to work on it on the weekend. I'll give it another go one night this week.
i want to sort this out next week end, so if anyone who can diagnose this sort of stuff, who wants to pop past, over the weekend and have a crack at it.
Let me know (PM me). its in the Canterbury area, Sydney 2193.
there's a case in it for you, to start with (minimum wage) for a diagnosis.
if sorted and any hard labour involved will be compensated. I need fresh eyes on this.
it's simple, i know it. i'm thinking timing. AHHHhh.

if yr really keen, you can wire in my EA alternator for a price. as i'm over working on the car.

I bought genuine ones from Toyota a few years ago. Not sure if you can still get them. Would have to check up on the part number, but it is in this thread somewhere, so searching could help you.

ok fellow 18rg lovers, i just want an opinion on something. i purchased an 18rg flywheel from a forum member interstate, it arrived cracked badly, the forum member isn't responding to my pm, since i purchased this flywheel i can no longer afford to get my 18r flywheel machined, is it actually necessary to machine the flywheel when installing a new clutch?

Got any photos of the cracks? It's always advisable to machine the flywheel to ensure you get the best friction plate to flywheel contact.

I will upload some pics tomorrow. I'm in bed at the moment. But there is 3 cracks that go right through the friction surface.

Surface cracks are pretty normal on a friction surface. It depends on how deep they are as to whether or not they are a problem. If the are shallow and refacing removes them, no issue. If refacing does not remove them, then the flywheel is cactus.

As Jabbatron said though, not surfacing the flywheel will do bad things to the new clutch very quickly.
