Ideally i would use an aftermarket ecu with a proper tps and map sensor to get rid of the flappybox, but due to state law i cannot sacrifice the factory ecu and emissions equipment and still get it signed off by regency park unless i do independent emissions testing which can cost thousands of dollars.

This has also got me thinking - because the 18RGEU ECU only gets its rpm signal from the coil, it won't have a 'home' position. This means that it's either wired up for 1+2 and 3+4 because it doesn't know which cycle it's on, thus one of the pair will be kn the right cycle (but, again, no home position, so how can it know which pair to fire?) or it just fires all 4 of the injectors at the same time...

Infact firing all a once is the most likely method of operation and they're only split in to pairs to reduce load on the ancient injector drivers.

It only takes minutes to wire in an aftermarket ecu like a haltech and I'm positive that you can hide it well enough to not have them know its not stock, or you could just put the aftermarket ecu in the stock ecu case.
Looking for a new toy. If you have something 18r powered let me know.

No idea how it fires the injectors. I'll whack the silly scope on it the next time I get a chance.

Found some injectors out of my 4age i'm rebuilding with the part number 23250-34030, searching up this part number tells me that they are 18R-GEU injectors. Weird thing is I can also find these injectors on ebay (USA) where sellers say they came out of a AE86/MR2 4age but I can't match this part number with any 4age's. Here is a pic of one of the injectors:

Just wanna know what injectors I have because I need a replacement.

    Cheers

    ToyoDIY.com

seem to only list them for 18rgeu's?
(FWIW they look like the ones in my 18rgeu)

there not the 18rgeu std one's, as they are 210cc, these are 252cc /24lb/hr 3(bar) 2.8ohm, so they may be MR2 type. as long as they are single pintle, they would suit an RG quite well. they are the same colour as the 18rgeu std though.

edit, talk about confusion. Another sight says they are 216cc 2.2ohms 3bar.

Mate, sounds like your best bet is to take a working injector to a fuel injection place and get it tested...

OMR: and the way you drive I bet it doesn't even get close to 50% duty cycle!

    Hi,

Mine probably doesn't even do 25% duty cycle!

Look at it this way, when OMR is going to sell off some classic Celicas you can be well ensured they are not only in top condition, but mechanically they have been looked after and will run for another 40 years.

    Hi,

Bahhh, easy peasy. Fix them or buy whatever the latest gizmo is at the time. Mind you though, in 40 years the only gizmo's you'll probably be able to buy would be to get an extra few watts from your awesome elecvtric car motor.

    any ideas?
My 18rgeu is not sending the signal to turn on the fuel pump at the relays.
the relays are working, as i tested them with meter. The AFM has power at all the right points.
i've looked at the TPS and adjusted to 0 and 5v at wot.
my fuel pumps/lift pump work with direct power. car starts and runs that way.
what else could be the problem. i only once i got a alternating signal from the fuel pump wire when testing, but i can't replicate it.
    any suggestions?
