    i know

but hard to get parts on a highly tuned/strung motor thats a LOT of dollars, could build a mad 1/2j for that money or nice 1uz

dont get me wrong im not knocking it and if i had a few grand to burn i buy it in a heart beat and would of done so when it had the meth injection and was still 8k on boostcruising its even better value now

    Listen to this guy.
My 18RG long block owes me at least $6k-7k as it stands today - which is WITHOUT turbo, manifolds, aftermarket cams, intercooler, piping, etc.

Here's the basic list for my 18RG long motor.
    • buy stock 18RG 88250 engine $500
    • custom forged pistons/rings $1000
    • custom Crower rods $1200
    • Head recondition and mild portwork $500
    • Engine machine work, assembly and parts (fasteners, gaskets, etc) $2500
    • crank trigger setup $250
    • new water pump $80
    • modify sump $150

.... and thats just what I can think of off the top of my head, i'm sure there is a lot more.

.... which makes Peter Kip's motor look like a fucking bargain, because ON TOP of a long motor, his also has:
    • turbo $1000
    • manifold $800
    • intake manifold $800
    • water to air intercooler $1000
    • aftermarket cams (most likely) $400

Trust me.... building a tough turbo motor is no cheap fucking exercise.
