    Default 4AC head info please

Just trying to find out some dimensions on the 4AC head, to see how big it is. I want to compare the size of it to the 4AFE head.
Weight as well if possible please.

I need the height of the head alone, from the bottom to the top of the cam cover.
And the width of the head alone, across the widest part.

It's for another forum, where they're running out of ideas on how to bag twin-cam engine and are attacking them for having much larger heads than SOHC types.
Just want to know how much bigger the FE head is.

one of the supposed downsides of a twincam engine is that they are physically bigger than the pushrod equivalent.

Bill, i wouldnt expect a SOHC head to be drastically smaller than the narrow 4AFE head.

i have given up arguing these types of arguements, because push rod pushers say things like "if a pushrod engine isn;t powerful enough then you can just get a bigger one"

the head size arguement is more valid on V8s, and there there might be room for an arguement, why for example the LS1 seems to be so much better than a BA falcon 5.4 litre DOHC engine (this is more a question of engine design than engine technology) as the LS1 has plenty of power and is quite compact, wheras the BA V8 is huge and isn;t all that awe inspiring.

A quick measurement today showed me that the FE head is about 10mm taller than the C head. They're pretty close to the same width though.
