Current price on the toyota stuff (08885-80108) is $34.12 a pop (50mL).
Holden want $31.05 a pop (120mL) for their stuff - part number 12345982.

Talked to a guy at work who used to rebuild industrial blowers and was recommended 150 grade gear oil (not SAE rating). It's about a 20~390SAE gear oil, single grade.

I just went and got the Holden stuff. They got it to me same day.

indeed it sure does smell like it's lanolin for sure. i remember noting that to someone in 99, (might of included a kiwi joke at the time! ).....
as a lot of others here i've used thin synthetic eng oil in my s/c's. used to use the syringe way, but have found it easier to use a 50ml flashlube container.

Gear/Diff oil is rated differently to engine oil, so the numbers are not comparable.

The stuff from Holden contains the following:

    Fatty acids, C5-10, esters with
    dipentaerythritol - CAS 70983-72-1
    Phosphoric acid,
    (1,1-dimethylethy) phenyl
    diphenyl ester - CAS 56803-37-3

    as written on the back.

fatty acids = lanolin by any chance?
