    Default FPR issues... Zero Preassure?

Was on my way taking up a drag challenge 18miles away from my home... drove around 2miles out of my house and my car start to jerk and then noticed that my fuel preassure drop to ZERO..my car dead by the roadside.. first i thought was my fuel pump had died on the spot but later i heard swooshing sound of fuel flowing....and both my pumps are running fine... however my preassure still zero....when i squeeze my return hose , to reduce the flow my car was able to start again .. and when i release my hose my car died again....

is there such possibility the FPR will fail and dun have any preassure at all ...? or issit merely my fuel pump are weak?

if you can here fuel pumps running and you have no pressure the pump failure is most likely, what sort of vehicle and engine?

    corona with a 1jz.

IIRC he has two pumps. if one failed there should still be pressure I would have thought. Probably enough to drive normally but maybe not enough under acceleration.

could be that the FPR is jammed open...so the fuel is just pumping straight back out to the tank...

Don't completely rule out a fuel pump failure. Replaced one in my mate's RB20'd Rodeo on the weekend, the old pump still ran, and the car would run, but had random misfiring and jerking, and drove like shite. Very little fuel pressure (verified by a gauge), replacing the pump fixed the problem

FPR failure is unusual but certainly possible. If there is fuel flowing back through the return and the gauge reads zero, FPR failure seems most likely - if the pump was faulty you'd either get zero flow or some amount of pressure in the rail.

damm it.... i changed to another FPR today .. stock also ... i have one laying at my store.. replaced it... tis time no return fuel.... damm! my fuel pump get heated up ... and screwed when it stop spinning.... replaced 2 new pumps.... and it start to get heat again ... thought it was somewhere clogging ... only to find out that the FPR that i changed was actually jammed shut... wtf..... tomorrow gonna get new adjustable type and see wat happen next ... really in a mess as i opened up alot of things that i thought might possible happen from injectors wiring, fuse box,ecu connections ,surge tanks to see any clog, filters up to the component inside the ecu but to no avail... and it seems that little culprit was the stupid damm FPR... wasted my whole day though

Do you have an inadequate filter that's allowing dirt to do funny things to the reg?

ok, so you had a fuel reg that was jammed open...

then you replaced it, and that one was jammed shut?

wow... cant seem to catch a break! unlucky!

manage to start the car and not long after that ... it died again ... WTF.... thought there must be something wrong with my ecu... might be a short circuit or other shit.... checked again all the harnes from the power supply -fusebox-ecu-injectors n ignitors-coils.... done that for around 1 n half day... then my friend told me... hey ... ur cam/crank sensor wire clip was open up .... went to check ...true enough, the lock key has broken, no signal from the sensor thus ecu dun let my car start.... damm it... at least i learnt something today
