Hey all,
I have a AE82 100kw Swap and i have some issues idleing when warm. Sometimes when im driving i stop at the lights and the idle doesnt drop below 2000rpm. If i give it a good rev past around 3500rpm it will then drop. Ive checked the throttle body to see if it isnt releasing properly but it seem ok. Could it be a vaccum issue or you think maybe it is something to do with the throttle not releasing?

Thats the pcv hose in the photo.
Definately check for any vacuume leaks, which could be from any hoses that have popped off or split. check the idle adjustment screw while your at it
Could also be some sort of idle control issue with the ecu, but I'm not sure how those 100kw ones have it setup. For example the ecu will bump up the idle speed when its cold, then it will drop down as it warms up.
search the old forums for it, i had a problem similar to this and it turned out to the the idle up valve controlled by the temperature of the water. If you can't find anything PM me and ill put a description here.
My 100kw idles at 2000rpm when cold (sometimes higher if ambient temp is low), and this is controlled by the ECU. I'd look for simpler things like the pipe Finney describes first before delving into your computer.
AFAIK your engine idling at 2000 RPM has nothing to do with the ECU, its the cold start injector, which is controlled by a thermoswitch in the head.
my mate's engine has the CS injector hooked up and idles at 2000, mine doesnt have it hooked up and idles at 500 - 1000 (doesnt hunt) due to me removing all idle up controls.
but i agree, you should look for vacuum leaks first.
