Have you checked the ignitor is earthed?Originally Posted by mr2merv
ok so here's the update:
we managed to locate the connector that plugs into the G1 and G2 coils and wired our ignitor straight into that plug. we also wired the ignitor to the connector for the B+ (Common Coil) and we're still not getting any spark![]()
we're getting 12V to both the G1 and G2 coils and 12V from our B+ (Common Coil). we've double, triple and even quadrupal check our wiring and as far as we can tell everything is wired correctly according to the 7M to 4AGZE wiring diagram.

if anyone has any information at all that could help us or steps that we could still try to get spark going would be much appreciated. thanks.

yes the ignitor is earthed....we're starting to think of ditching the whole ae101 wiring and going to the USDM AW11 electronics. i already have a full wiring harness for an 88sc MR2 anyways and this has been a long time process that i just want to get done already.
if anyone has any advice, troubleshooting steps or maybe the ae101 ignitor wiring diagram (as we only have the EFI diagram currently). we have looked for a while on this and other sites for it but we unable to turn up with anything.
thanks again,

I have a 3 part diagram that shows the whole ECU wiring including the ECU to igniter wiring if you want.Originally Posted by mr2merv
Shows IGT IGF and IGD from the ECU to the igniter, and the other wires to the igniter are the two coil -ve's and the tacho output that normally goes to the tacho signal in the diagnositc box.
Give me your email address and i'll send them to you if you want.
