Default 1G hitting "boost cut" at light throttle

    hey all

ok long time prob but i havent brought it up.
my 1G soarer hits a cutout of some sort at between 50% - 95% throttle at around 4500rpm and iv got no idea what it is. The check engine light lights up then goes off for about 3 secs and the codes recon its got something to do with the AFM.

thing is at full throttle it doesn't hit this cutout. . any clues?

its only runnin about 15psi with the AFM tightened up, exhaust and a cooler

Find another AFM and try it. tinkering with the AFM causes more trouble than good unless on a dyno....

Failing that reset the AFM back to factory. I had similar issues when tinkering with mine.

Its the AFM for sure, I just replaced mein cause it was doing a similar thing.. It was cutting boost at 11psi. My original AFM died and the spare one i had lying around has had the spring fiddled with. As soon as i got another one unopened and original everything is back to normal...

so. . how do i dodge this now?

um, if it's going good with no problems i'd suggest you don't "dodge" it.

You should not need to dodge. If you got standard turbos they are not much good past this anyway... The proper way to dodge it is to get a SAFC, lean out the mixture and it will raise the boost cut. You get more power from a better air/fuel mixture and raise the boost cut if your really wanted to. I would not go past 16psi on stock turbos.... there is no benefit to it....just my 2c

. . . ok time to chuck my SAFC back in then huh.

i meant dodge as in raise the factory fuel cut. . . not. . . be dodgy . . . nvm.

iv had the std turbos up to 22psi. . . and. . there is absolutely no diffference between that and 15psi.

    ok ty ppl.

btw wahts the agreed max output of a 1G with std turbos?

It depends if its manual or auto...but max so far has been 193rwkw with the normal being around 160 to 170rwkw...

Same here, I made less power on 21psi than I did on 15psi.

I shit myself when I saw it go up to 21psi on the dyno - it was supposed to be a low boost run!

    indeed they do...

although like said kid getting picked on at school, they take it for ages and ages and then one day just snap and go postal

or in the turbos case, lunch themselves

heres hopin that doesnt happen to me until i dont need them anymore, though
