My mates 1jz had a few cuts in the exhaust after the turbos about 1/2 foot away and it made it run like a dog. Once he welded the slits up it fixed his problem. Similar to your scenario, high idle, no power, lower limiter also iirc.

i wired at 20v with no o2 sensor yesterday it went ok

    who wired it up
are they experts or dumb idiots hehe

    have u checked cam timing

    have u checked static timing

did the engine get things like water pump replaced and they fukt the cam timing up

    check comprtession
if compression is ok then it must be electrical

they are very basic to find faults on

is air flow meter voltage of

does it blow black smoke when u give it sum

do the basic checks for mechanical probs then look at electrical

try yr ecu in another car to see if its the ecu

    Sideshow.
Me and my Brother made the loom, I'm no expert but he knows exactly what he's doing. We've checked and double chcked everything you mentioned, execpt the ecu itself. I havn't checked the compression since the engine's been in the car, but it was ok then so it would be ok now. I'll check it again anyway.

I appreciate all the help guys.

    cheers,
    Dave

loss of power coul dbe causeb by a million things

did u change timing belt and is it right

have u checked mechanical stuff too like compression

but i have had to fix afew 20v wiring loms cause of dumb fucks

thats y i try buy a spare 20v ecu at good prices and sell them for much more hehehehehe

YES, I have checked, double checked and triple checked everything there is to check. I am no "dumb fuck". I realise that it's hard to help somone through a forum, but this is the only place i know of filled with corolla enthusiasts. I will figure it out somehow.

If anyone can direct me to someone in victoria who could help me find the fault or faults, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Cheers
    Dave

alot of cranky people on these forums heheheheehe

well get a bloody multimeter out and start probing

if you cannot get codes out of the ecu then it makes the job 500% harder

can you get the ecu light to flash constantly like there is no probs

if you cannot get ecu light to flash at all then its prob the ecu

Is it running the factory intake (incl afm and airbox) and exhaust?

What about vacuum lines, is everything connected properly? What about a split vacuum hose, that will cause problems, esp high idle and poor running, and can be damn hard to spot.

Yes factory afm but currently with no airbox. Genuine toyota sports exhaust, it's slightly larger than standard twincam ae82 exhaust. Every vacuum hose is connected properly and as of yet I've found no split hoses

The only code I'm recieving is 21, for the o2 sensor. I'm sure this would not effect the engine power. It is only used for cruising

Yep, i ran without an oxy sensor for ages, it spat that code whenever you asked it but it ran happy the whole time; not your problem.

If the ecu isn't suggesting a problem i'm thinking its mechanical. I'm leaning back towards intake reversion screwing with the afm, or unmetered air getting into the engine. What's on the front of your afm if no airbox? Pod?

Might have to go through the vacuum lines again

At the moment I don't have an airbox at all, I know that it's kind of dangerous that's why I've only been test driving it up and down the road. An airbox could not possibly effect the power though,... could it?

No, but it could possibly smooth the airflow going through the afm. I have heard of open afm's jumping around and giving 'undamped' (for want of a better description) readings to the ecu.

But i've also seen an SC12 powered pug 205 gti charging round wakefield at one of our days with the bare afm hanging out the front of the chopped radiator support...

Put the airbox on and try it, at the very least you'll rule out one possibility.
