be interesting to compare the vane profiles and weights of the turbine/compressor wheels with equiv size brand name jobbies..
housings should be relatively easy to copy with no ill effects (apart from cracking of exhaust housing/gate movement problems)..
how much do you think it costs to produce a garrett turbo anyway? some part of the cost is R&D for sure, but a lot is markup also...
if the wheel materials, processing and design is comparable (to at least older generation garrett/others) then they may be good value..
consistency of quality control is another issue.. but plenty of things are made in china now anyway (and getting more and more tech oriented things)

fair difference between a ls1 and a 2j ... only 2000cc..... never going to beat displacement with boost. any v8 will respond alot better to a little boost than a smaller engine will. does it say when the ls1 can spool up those 2, maybe it will be a little laggy on the 2j? not sure...

I do realise the LS1 responds alot better for the same power level, but did you see the dyno chart on that thing? It had virtually NO lag at all! Im not aiming for that, Im aiming for a "reasonably responsive" setup.

noone.... just mentioned the ls1 kit, and its a little bit diferent to the 2j.
if you had have kept reading, you would have noticed that i said DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN THE LS1 SPOOLS THOSE TURBOS UP. before you go bitching n whingin
so the verdict is these turbos are decent atleast its another option when i need an upgrade..

The LS1 with 330s will reportedly make 9psi just by giving it a big rev in neutral, so that will give you an idea of response.Originally Posted by BeRad

Even though I already answered that.

ahhk otomoto, good to know
are they ball bearing turbo's?
9psi is a hell of alot of boost from a bit of a rev in neutral especially.
sir 2j you love the ninja, i need to review and revise haha

If in doubt power out
Just for reference the size of the KKR330 compressor wheel is 45mm/60mmOriginally Posted by takai
The 'T28' (T3 60trim) found on the SR20 (T28 roller = GT2560R) has a compressor wheels size of 46.5mm/60mm. (GT28RS's wheels are 47.5/60)
From the sheer size of the wheels you can get a picture of how much they will flow when placed along side other compressor of the same size.
Personally I'd recomend a good quality second hand S15 turbo, over the KKR's as you get BB centre, and proven releability of a garrett product (remember Nissan don't want warrenty complaints and this is an OEM turbo,) and the turbo is known to top out at ~210RWkW. That's 35lbs, with the 330's wheel sizes I wouldn't expect to see any more.
That said Otomoto is offering good warrenties and people are having good results.

Yeah, but the S15 turbo from memory doesnt use the T28 flange, which the GT28RS does.
