Haha, which does require the turbos being removed again....so thats a later thing. I think for the moment a dose of Gen3 inlet piping wouldn't go astray though.

Hey good thread. My Blitz Bag turbos just bolted to the piping with no mods, I always thought my engine was a Gen3 cause of the Ecu but judging by the piping it might not be. Anyways Last time I removed the turbos I took some pics, and ported out the pipe work that bolts to the turbos. I found out the stock piping needed a bit of work to fit perfectly with out covering up the intake of the turbo... Here are some comparison pics.
![]()
BLK 1G-GTE,
The turbos in the pics are indeed gen 3 series Turbos and blitz bag turbo's. The Gen 3 is clearly identifiable buy not justthe casting number (C1 & C2) but buy the tapered inlet to the turbo. If your Gen 3 pipework bolted staright up then it suggest there are 2 different series of Blitz Bag turbo's.![]()
The bolt spacing for the intake pipework for the Gen 2 and 3 is very different yet Nathan (Justcallmeorlando) used the Gen 2 pipework which was also reported to be a bolt up fit. ????

C4 & 5 41-42mm Outlet (just before joining Y pipe)
Bolt Spacing at 58mm ? And thats centre to centre.

hey slightly off topic guys. . . . is it difficult to get the turbos off a 1JZ to fit up. . .would it be worth the effort?

ive asked this before ... 1st they laughed .. then they explained it wasnt worth the cost / effort.![]()

It doesn't make much sense does it, unless really like Toyman said that there were two different types of Blitz Bag turbos....But why would Blitz go to this trouble...Anyone one else with blitz turbo's can confirm this.... If the Gen 3 piping was a direct bolt-on for them...
Dont even come close to fitting VeeP.
BLK, they probably did the same thing with Gen1/2 and Gen3 turbos, hence the different sizes.

Guess i was lucky cause i didn't even consider that when i purchased the Blitz turbos.. Would that mean they are bigger then gen 2 Blitz turbos Nathan...Cause they are bigger then my stockies ???
Would only make sense that they are bigger than the Gen2 versions. Also makes sense as to why my Gen2 versions can only perform like Gen3 standard turbos.

I guess we need to wait for you two to have a need to pull your turbo's off and measure them before we will know for sure but I would expect the only difference to be the compressor housing. It just wouldn't be cost effective to have two completely different sets of blitz bag turbo's. If the compressor wheel on the bLitz Bag turbo is 17% bigger than the Gen 2 wheel it is still bigger than the factory Gen 3 wheel making it a viable upgrade.
You have to assume that the revised wheel size was as a result of testing and development and since the Gen 3 exhaust wheel is the same size as the Gen 2 there would be no need for a further increased the compressor wheel. Further to this is the Gen 3 wheel was increased by 17% its size ratio to the exhaust wheel would most likely make for an inefficient turbo. It does make sense for the compressor wheels to be the same size and the housings updated with the release of the Gen 3 Turbos to suit teh gen 3 pipework.
Do both your sets of Turbo's still have the Blitz ID tags on them ? What part numbers are they.
Nathan,
It makes sence your struggles with the much smaller pipework, than the Stock Gen 3 Turbo's do 7mmID is a massive difference in volume.
