Hmm, I wonder if fitting the Gen3 inlets would achieve anything. I know for certain fixing up the damn step-up I have in my inlet pipes would have to achieve something.

I had loads of lovely hi res pics of my blitz Bag turbos... unfortuantely I lost ALL of them, along with all the pics of the progress of my engine build gutted I had to modify my Gen 3 inlet pipes to fit the turbos, a couple of mm extension of the factory holes.

I only have what I already had uploaded....

Not on the ones I've seen. Mine personally has the skinny Gen2 piping on it.

Was the Gen 2 pipework a direct bolt on ??

Yeah, from what I gather, and the years that used to be on the Blitz website, it was a Gen1/2 thing only.

Based on the fact my car has 7psi actuators, i'm thinking mine were originally Gen1.

Mine definitely bolt on and line up as well.

That would explain why the Gen 3 Turbo's seem to be close to the Blitz Items in terms of performance. In the pics the Blitz Items deffinatly look to have a bigger compressor wheel.

I am still sure I have seen mathcing blitz pipework. It was cast into it and everything.

Interesting, I wonder what could be easily done to take advantage of this?

Are you sure it wasn't one of the other Blitz BAG kits you saw the piping for?

    Nathan,

My memory isn't what it should be but yeah I am pretty sure it was CT12's on a 1G.

    BLK1GGTE posted the following:

" Blitz avante garde! Replace the impeller and compressor air intake side of genuine turbo charger. This simple bolt-on type turbo kit maximizes the performance of your turbo. This is the new Blitz concept of tuning up genuine turbos. The impeller diameter (core component of this bag turbo) is enlarged by 17%, and its precision balance is improved 10 times. The compressor housing is made of new material and specially heat treated to improve durability by 44%. "

    50mm + 17% = 58.5mm
    30mm + 17% = 35.1mm

If these are actually the size of the compressor wheel in the bag turbos then they are indeed bigger than the Gen 3 1G-GTE items (As expected) I guess to find out for sure I need to get my hands on a set

I've seen the blitz pipework before, only once, on an import. Very similar still to stock but i imagine larger ID.
Also i have some gen 3 turbos and they have compressor castings of C5 & C6 ?

edit : yes it has blitz cast onto it

Looks like maybe I should look into improving that piping...I wonder if I've still got some Gen3 stuff kicking around.

I wonder if there would be any merit to bellmouthing out the compressor covers to match the bigger Gen3 inlet piping?

Back on the 15th Nathan (TA-022) claimed he was going to measure up his C5 and C6 turbos. I guess Tomoorw hasn't made it yet

    Nathan (JustcallmeOrlando),

Port matching the "bigger" Gen 3 pipework to the compressor cover can't be a bad thing.
