hey i've got some of that stuff - i like it cuz it doesnt really have any thickness to it so its ok to smear onto gaskets as an extra safeguard.

i got it about a year ago from malz in cannington... might be worth giving them a call in case they still stock it

Yeah its the same stuff i just checked :" DynaGrip Gasket Sealer #2" , red tube with white writing on it. Its not runny, what i meant was that it doesnt set thick like gasket goo so its not really any use for repairing broken/missing gaskets but just for helping them seal. I hope they can get hold of it for you the staff at Malz are pretty helpful in general.

so ive got a mates cressida hear with presumably a BHG just having a quick look over it before starting tomorrow it seems alot different than normal 7m symtoms.

The spark plug galleys are flooded with water and oil it seems strange because the oil in the sump doesn't have any water in it...

the oil cap seems to have water/oil residue in the top....

any ideas guys?? i was thinking it might just be the water gallery nuts but not too sure...

i just dont wanna pull the head of if its not the hg

Oil in the spark plug area is pretty normal because the cam cover gaskets will seep when they get old. Cant imagine how water would get in there though, unless he hoses his engine off or leaves it outside with the bonnet up?

Easiest and surest way to determine BHG is via tee kay test at any radiator shop (especially if the symptoms arent massively obvious)

    problem solved now..
the heater hose that goes to the back of the head was leaking water into the galley...

i just replaced the hose and all was fine... funny thing is that was all that caused a missfire so now the car is fine lol he paid $200 for it because the previous owner thought it was blown..
