you shouldnt have any problems, just make sure the cooling system is up to scratch, as you would any car, and give it its proper run down time after a hard thrashing, and it'll live for ages.

You have sooooo much more self control than me!!!!

Mine with the full rebuild saw some hot temps cruising around summernats and I had no probs.

The car saw over 100 a couple of times. Seems good I'm not to sure it would of been right with a standard gasket

Mine sits around 80C to 90C in normal city driving, regardless of the ambient temperature... if I give her a constant hard time, it might get up to 95Cish, until I slow down… The hottest my car gets is if I turn the car off on a hot day, it sits at around 100C until I turn it back on...

Bit of an old thread, but I wonder how you got along finding some of that Dynatec Sealer #2 ?

    http://www.toymods.net/forums/showth...t=decking+head

Looked on their website, and now they are doing gasket products but couldn't see if any were equivelant to what you used ?

    http://www.accumetricinc.com/dynatex/catalog.asp

If anyone knows what the current standard is, let us all know ??

i am about to do a hg, gonna use a std toyota hg with arp studs, where can you get them for 160-170 (AS posted above) i have seen them CHEAPEST $220ish!

my car has gotten to mid 90's on my aftermarket gauge, even after a thrashing, it doesnt get to 100, ill clean the entire system again once i do the hg though!

i have heard 74lbs/ft is fine and anything more than that is 100% unnecessary! std 58 obviously didnt work, stupid toyota, you think they would of done a recall after a few years!

Na i never managed to find the dynatec sealer #2 i once used. Who knows wot happened to that stuff, it was probably toxic and was banned like so many other excellent products that actually work

Woggin, those prices were almost a year ago when the exchange rate from usa was ALOT better than now.

How about a spray of Hylomar on the gasket, that stuff usually works a treat.

hey guys im in the middle of a 7mge bhg fix

    It blew between 5-6 cylinder

Now the head and block is as straight as the day it rolled off the factory floor

I will deck the head and replace the stem seals and it needs welding to one water jacket easy fix

Should i spend some money on decent head bolts for a stocko 7mge?

And what should i torque the head to? the vrs kit i have here says 56 ft pounds

    thanks luke

56lbs/ft will make it go pop again, most people do it up to about 74lbs/ft, sum go higher, but isnt really needed!!

forcefed has bolts/studs for sale for $212 i pm'ed about the prices (economic downfall may have affected them) but i will put studs on my 5m once i fix the bhg, then boost time!!

modyourcar.com also have 7m head studs for sale, its a ozzie based 'fully hektic' website, run by lebos!

iam thinkin of it, not 100% on it yet, have wanted to do it for a while, first 5mgte without BHG! considering it, if i can find a 7mgte, cheap, thats in good nick maybe ill do that, or ill just save up and buy my bros jza70!
