You better do that, and to be on the safe side, change/upgrade your suspension and change your brakes whilst you drop a different engine in the car.Originally Posted by simple61
My engineer looked at the engine and transmission mountings in the car structually, how it ran with the factory ECU and other required checks for engineering to satisfy his criteria. It wasn't required for me to fit an Unleaded fuel restrictor as that's the only petrol avaliable at most fuel bowsers but I presume that would depend on the engineer. Most engineers I tried for my car wanted an Emissions Data Sheet, but the engineer I have engineered my engine before so no Emissions Data Sheet was required.

Can't afford it?... Don't buy/drive it...

yeah definatley planning on upgrading the brakes, suspension has been upgraded slightly, but is hard to find what i want, or just plain costly. being an apprentice get paid little money to spend big. have been looking at some options to upgrade running gear though.
the stock ma61 gbox/diff will handle 1jz power for a fair while, so you can put that closer to the bottom of your list of required mods![]()
... and this is what they will look like

Thanks gents, i have sourced the gearbox for the 1j, but most of the other running gear i will do a bit later down the track. was thinking of changing over to a 5 stud pattern on the wheels as its fairly hard to get the wheels i like with current pattern. but will just focus on the engine conversion for now. thanks for all of your input and pics you guys are really helpfull. cheers

Yes, very basic.
That pic has convinced me to make my own, bugger paying $300 for them.
I'd still buy them.
Saves a lot of hassle.
Trust me on that.
