Good work with the Arias pistons. The big thing which lets the stock GZE pistons down is the weight compared to the aftermarket jobbies. 8000rpm with boost is all well and good, but when you are talking rod stretch.....

I would be interested to see how this would go with a 36mm restrictor.

Wouldnt happen to have a rough idea of the diff in weight between pistons ??????

i can give you weights for CP,SRP etc tomorro. have to get the trade books out of the garage!to bloody cold now.

i would use ACL's over arias everytime. CP is all i use but SRP do good pistons aswell and the is nothing wrong with maule aswell.

the crown thickness is a good indicator.

Yeah sweet m8. I have some GZE pistons i can weigh up to compare !

so you like the acl forged jobbies? I can get them cheap! i was told by the rep that they are actually made by another company and acl grind their name off and re stamp them.

Hence the machine mark on the inderside of the piston! I forget who he said actually makes them!

I have ABSOLUTELY NO doubt as to the strength of the GZE piston ( they can take a huge punishment) but like taki said the weight may become an issue for other components as im getting very close to the 9000 rpm region !

there made by maule! like all acl forgies are made by maule.maule make very good pistons. shame you cant get the anodised skirts in the 4ag ones like the 308 ones.
another thing about ACL, there bearings are as good as any in the world.
i use clevlite bearing because they do H series bearings. thats the only reason.
they are all fine. the thicker crown gives you a higer saftey margin if you get a hicup in the system, with the added bonus of being able to shave and blend ones with a thicker crown and better alloy to get exact chamber CC

Yeah the GZE pistons are heavy bastards! I remember picking up a box of 4 CP pistons and they weighed about the same as a single GZE piston! If i knew what my build would eventually turn into... i probably would have gone a set of aftermarket jobbies.

Are those Arias slugs part no 1515403228 that they depict in their catalogue? They look completely different? Can you advise? Thx

If you look at www.atomicspeedware.com where I ordered them, the part number is different.
