Why are Signature Images diabled?

Hey Toymods Admin,

Just wondering what the reasoning is behind disabling Images in Signatures? I think it should be enabled for small images.

The reason is because the forums are a Technical forum. and too many pictures take away from the content. In the end you end up scolling through heaps of pictures to get to the content

I agree that some people go overboard and have huge pictures in their signatures which is far from necessary.

Now that I think about it, its actually a good thing that Toymods is such a focussed community of car lovers (not necessarily all Toyota lovers). It's really hard to find good groups of people that do care, not just one big fat flame war against all of the newbies.

FYI - Toymods is the ONLY forum where I have not used the 'disable signatures and avatars' option, as there is no need as no one goes overboard. Animated avatars are almost as annoying as picture signatures.

Im against picture sigs, but unless the pic is hosted by the Toymods server it does not use their bandwidth. Most pics are hosted on other servers through members own accounts.

precisely but I take your point about the Tomods server though, avatars though are loaded onto the server hence why animated avatars are also FTL!!!
