To be honest it is hard work,
BUT,
the 3 people that actually do it ( well I think there is only 3) are generally pretty relaxed about most things and I know that I for one more often then not Complete information (like if someone has not put in a suburb) rather then just reject them.

This particular person somehow slipped through the cracks and thats a shame but the decision was made.

He is more then welcome to reapply as he was not BANNED, just deleated.

This doesnt seem like a very logical course of action to me either.

I have actually met the guy in person, and sure he is young and naive but he is not a little ricer-boy wanker internet-thug. He is actually a member of the Qld Supra Club, he comes along to our meetings and participates in a well mannered way. He doesnt drive like a tool (although he seems to talk about the odd street race on here) and he gets along with everyone.

So can anyone confirm whether or not he was warned of the problem before his account was deleted?

Draconian.......... Draconian would be me deleting your account just cause its friday and I'm sick to death of how people feel then need to comment on the mimimal moderation that takes place here. How about we just don't moderate at all and let the place turn to shit.

Here is the nut shell - Most people enjoy it here, we moderate only a little and it works for us. No one other than the Admin responcible for (or consulted about) the action taken knows why it took place. How about instead of jumping up and bitch slapping the people that try and make this place run smoothly you just accept that there must have been a good reason and find something else to bitch about. What ever happen to a little faith in the people that donate their time to keep Toymods going.

If the account owner has any question as to why he was deleted (Highly unlikely) then he knows how to contact the board and of course he is more than wlecome to re-apply and follow the guidelines. The last thing we are going to due to publicly announce what concerns no one else but him and the Toymods Board.

No, deleting my account for no reason would be tyrannical and wrong. The question was raised out of interest, not to rock the boat. We understand the rules, we just wondered if there was something stronger that provoked the deletion of his account, because it seems uncharacteristic of toymods to be so heavy about something that might easily be resolved through simple discourse.

There was no "bitch slapping" and I'm sure I speak for everyone on the board when I say that we all appreciate the work the mods do to keep things running smoothly.

Rod, once again I re-iterate that the majority of toymodders understand and appreciate the work that goes into the running and administration of these forums. I for one am not looking for any sort of detailed explanation as to why the action was taken (it seems pretty straightforward) but merely have posed the question 'was the member concerned alerted as to why his account was deleted?'

Rod mate, there were no accusations (on my part at least) - just looking for a mite of confirmation that other avenues had been investigated.
Of course the assumption was that they had, but confirmation makes the world make sense and gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside

you're all pretty quick to say draconian this and that. But if he'd actually read what it said during the registration process he could have avoided the problem

"Please ENSURE you do not enter bogus information as we cannot guarantee approval if you do not provide legitimate information. If your information is found to be bogus either in the sign-up process or later your account will be deleted." it says it in big red writing so it's pretty hard to miss

tis isnt such a drama. he can easily reapply with all correct data and he will be ok, as stated.

Guys, no-one is arguing that it's easy for him to get back on the forums. The question has been (and remains) was he informed why his account was terminated? Put yourself in his shoes, would you remember what was in the fine print when you signed up over 3 weeks ago? Would you understand why your account was deleted if no-one took issue with the way you'd entered your information?

I have no issue with the signup procedures, I agree that supplying correct information is necessary to protect these fine forums from the wookie epidemic

However, if a user has been accepted (mistakenly or otherwise) and his/her account is deemed unacceptable, isnt it reasonable to give the user the opportunity to supply information that meets forum requirements or at the very least give an explanation as to why the account has been deleted? What would you do if you joined a forum and your account was deleted without explanation? With the new visibility measures put in place the poor guy cant even read about the situation without trying to sign-up again

imho rules are rules... explaining it to every tom dick and harry can get rather labourius dont you think? admins have enough to do. how many other members have had their accounts deleted for the same reason, just you were unaware of it?

read the rules, fill in the form. the fact he filled the form in with rubbish is just further testament to his well established character, and as noted, shouldve been bounced the first time.
