OK so make it a Manual JDM Supra then Its a Jap import manual 2JZ-GTE

It sure as fuck isn't the same as the USDM Supra wiring diagram and what we received was a pre-workshop "loved" abortion made from 2 looms twist and taped together over and over again.

Had this sitting here and forgot to upload it...

    http://motorsportfotos.com/Aristo_Production_Spec.pdf

As you can see, August '94 was when a Passenger Airbag was available (as an option) - it was Standard from July '96. But there was ( for some unknown reason), a poverty pack available at the same time that had the following items deleted...

    Drivers Airbag
    Air Purifier
    Cruise Control
    CD Player

    ? Not sure why...

    Awesome spreadsheet, thanks!

Are you sure they didn't offer black in the 92-94 region? I have a 93 coming in, in black and it looks like original paint.

Only 2JZ's sold in the US and UK have CT12B turbos. The JDM engine (ie the one relevant to most of us) has CT20A turbos.

EDIT: just realised the first post incorrently states CT20B, which I think is the turbo used on late-model 3S-GTE's?

Sorry to dig up an oldish thread,

    But I have one question

    Dave

So if I was doing an Aristo 2J conversion, with an existing R154 gearbox, would I need to buy a JZA80 M/T ECU, and then rewire the harness to a jza80 ECU plug? or could I use the Aristo A/T ECU on a manual transmission car?

    Thanks
    Sam

Auto ECU and loom will run a manual box with only minor changes to the wiring, which includes shorting the neutral start switch (among other things I belive, Mos can most likely confirm)

Yep, lots of people are running manual transmissions behind Aristo engines with auto ECU. Apart from the neutral start switch there are no changes required.

    Great info,

    Thanks MR 1JZ and Norbie

Looking at Supra and Aristo pinouts, the Supra ECU plug has ~ 120 pinouts, while the aristo ECU plug has ~55. Can anyone tell me why there is such a difference?

The reason I ask is that eventually I will want to install an Apexi Power FC on the Aristo 2J.

My question is, other than the pinouts\plugs being different on aristo and supra, would there be any other compatibility issues with running a power FC not designed for an Aristo?

a power FC install will result in your aircon not working

I know this becuase I had a supra ECU on my aristo for a week and the AC didnt work...

it just so happened it was the hottest week on record for 2007 in adelaide too

Other than AC, how did the car run with Supra ECU?

As for the AC, I don't see how the ECU would affect the AC, What calculations does the ECU make for the AC to work? I'm not sure if I will have the same issue as my car is an MA70 Supra.

car ran great, went better and the auto shifted harder...i suspect the supra ECU has a more agressive fuel or timing map than the aristo

if you are using the motor in a conversion then it wont matter...that same supra ecu is now in my mates MX83 with 2JZ and the aircon works fine...I thought you were using an aristo

Thats good info about the map differences with the 2 different ECU's. Would be curious to see dyno results from different ECU's used.

How did you fit the Supra ECU into your Aristo? Did you make a harness adaptor or something else?
