    Stidnam, including the 7J 0P rims I have maybe ~100mm extra track & I have sorted guard clearance issues already. The 50mm extra track I was referring to is from the negative camber RCAs I am using, but I am planning on swapping them to normal RCAs when I do the R&P conversion. This will change the scrub radius geometry, but not much else.

    I haven't decided yet to use the AE71 crossmember or the TA22 one. If I use the AE71 I would have to reweld the T-series mounts onto it. Using the TA22 crossmember I would space the LCA pivot points out to get the bumpsteer where I want it to use an unshortened AE71 rack. So far that's looking like the easier option - the adjustable LCAs were mentioned to compensate for the LCA pivots being in a different position & keeping the camber similar as I have stock camber tops. To reweld mounts I have to play silly buggers under the car aligning the mounts to the AE71 crossmember whereas welding extra metal to the TA22 LCA pivot points & redrilling is much easier.

    The T block is a good couple inches wider at the flex plate than a 4A block if that's any consolation, I have no idea compared to the 3S block width.

    of note when putting in a corolla or sprinter crossmember in the difference in lower control arm width off the pivots is +32mm per side. This will not let the castor rod and anti-rol bar bolt back on. However if that 32mm is removed from the middle of the lower control arm not only will everything bolt back up but the car will have the same track.

    Just took some quick measurements and thought i would put them here...

    TA22
    LCA = 300mm
    Between LCAs = 560-570mm
    Ball joint to wheel mounting face = ~150mm
    full width face to face = ~1470 (is this correct for TA22 track?)

    S13
    LCA = 340mm
    Between LCAs = 680
    Ball joint to wheel mounting face = ~100
    full width face to face = ~1560

    Rack width = ~630 (the rubber boots are still on it so i could only really guess where the tie rods ended)
    Tie rods = ~300

    It actually looks like the s13 cross member could fit with only slight changes to the cross memeber to chassis mount (they are about 20mm wider at each side at the mount points) Which would mean i wouldn't have to swap any rack and pinion over... cause it's already on the s13 i ALSO wouldn't have to mess around with engine mounts then either... cause it's what the engine came from... it's looking like a real option.

    That won't be track, for track you need to deduct wheel offset as it is measured centre of tread to centre of tread. So if standard offset is 30P (think that is pretty close) then deduct 30mm x 2 from your wheel face to wheel face measurement (1410mm). Seems a little wide to me though, standard car or modded?

    AFAIK it is standard... couldn't say for sure though and i may be wrong on the ball joint to mount face dimension as that was taken with a wheel on, so could be up to 20mm outish.

    also i'm used to old falcons... that have 0 offset... hence equating that measurement to track. my bad. time to turn on my jap car brain

    Spoke to my welder today & he seems to think it'll be easier using the AE71 crossmember & rewelding the engine mounts. Haven't yet measured the mounts to the chassis rails. Does anyone know if the width of the AE71 crossmember (chassis rail bolt holes) is similar to the TA22 member? I'll find out soon enough once the TA22 crossmember arrives in a week or so.

    I meant the bolt holes for the crossmember to mount to the chassis rails - I got 765mm for the rear holes & 780mm for the front holes on the AE71 crossmember. LCA pivots on the AE71 are close enough to 640mm.

    What I'm hoping is the AE71 crossmember will bolt to the TA22 rails easily, but I'm guessing that it won't without modification. Once the TA22 crossmember arrives then I'll be able to flesh it all out. ATM I'm just trawling for info that might help my plight

    yeah i meant the bolt holes... i'll measure them tonight because my memory eats a dick.

    Oh yeah I have that problem plenty - no more brekky bongs for us

    It's a pity my draglink is bent on ye olde TA22. It would be nice to have bumpsteer curve measurements for a stock TA22 setup, stock AE71 & maybe even a measurement for the unshortened AE71 rack mounted to an unmodified TA22 crossmember - just to see how poxy the bumpsteer is in that situation.

    you should be running the s13 struts then as well as the relationship between the rack and the steering rods will be all wrong

    The S13 struts will also have to be weld on coil-over springs or similar because IIRC the Silvia stock spring diameter fouls the strut tower in sillycars

    yes and yes.

    i have the full S13 front end disk to disk, strut to strut, however you are right about spring width on the front, but i'll just buy some coilovers (there are a LOT around for the S13) and then some silly car camber tops and i should be right as rain. my main concern is having reasonable camber for street driving with the full S13 front end. I guess i'll deal with that when i get to it.

    Yeah camber can be a killer on a road car. I got new tyres 2k ago and they already have ~1.5mm of camber wear on the inside. It makes me sad
