    Default SC14 belt runout

Dont know if anybody has had this problem but i will throw it out there.

While doing the sc/14 onto 18REGEU conversion i had to graft a rib belt pully onto the original water pump pully.
with it tacked up i had zero runout but after i welded it... guess what it pulled.!!!
Cut a long story short ive ended up with 12thou runout in both directions.

Ive seen MUCH worse on v belts before without throwing a belt, but i dont know how much the ribbed belt can take without throwing a belt.

Anybody had any experience with this.???

I know i should havehad new ones turned up out of alloy but cant afford it.

Or is there a ribbed pully that fits onto the rg water pump.??

If it is only 12 thou can you chuck it in a lathe and dress it into shape, the small amount you will be taking of will have little effect on strength.

Are you running a common belt for water pump and supercharger?, most settups that I have seen have a belt specificaly for the supercharger to get maximum wrap on the pulleys, even then you need a fair bit of tension to stop them slipping.

The stock GZE runs the WP with the SC belt, but it's not such a great idea. Try spacing your waterpump pulley out and running it off the front belt (if you've got one) If you get stuck let me know and I can do you a price on lathing up a custom pulley
